VBC Released

Ha, I suppose that will put people off just now. I wasn't all that interested when it first got mentioned. But I'm rather interested now. I shall see how my finances are come pay day.

Or I'll wait until Black Friday ;)

i'd buy but i'm afraid i could fuck all my licenses up so i will probably wait until the ilok thing has been resolved

Just got the email. Will be picking this up as soon as I get home! WooHoo! I really hope this is the replacement for hardware that I hope it is.

Do I have to update my ILok drivers?

EDIT: Screw it. Was too excited and just bought it at work.

Can anyone confirm if it is 64-bit for AU? On the email it says "The VBC is 64bit for VST and AU" but when you click the product profile before buying it says

"Specs:
Intel Mac 32bit: RTAS, AU, VST
Windows 32bit: RTAS, VST
Windows 64bit: VST"

If it's 64-bit I want it now

Yep!!!

Can someone explain me quickly what the new ilok manager is all about? I heard its all fixed now! I just installed it and see nothing different?! I can click activate on the plugins but what's the point? Is it to activate on a specific computer or what?! Why would I need that? Isnt that what the ilok is for?

the new ilok thingy worked fine for me. i'm running os 10.8.2.
been noodling 'round real quick on the vbc and so far i'm pretty excited :D

WOW! Looks like ILok's website and the software went through a big overhaul. So can we confirm it is safe to update the ILok drivers now? I'm somewhat scared to even try it after hearing the horror stories.

Just updated my ilok and no problems here. (i only run 2 slate demos and east west goliath though).

However, VBC does not work within cubase 6.5 over here.. i updated everything but it simply crashes cubase. "A serious error has occured bla bla bla").

According to the Slate YouTube account:

"VBC is 64bit VST and AU, and 32bit for PT10 AAX. 64bit AAX for PT11 coming soon."

I just spent a few hours testing it. . . I can tell you right off the bat that you can definitely push this plugin harder than other plugin compressors without your mix becoming flat and lifeless.

This is what Steven answered on YouTube: "VBC is 64bit VST and AU, and 32bit for PT10 AAX. 64bit AAX for PT11 coming soon."
