Well, I just watched that video in HD and my ears don't hear enough difference to drop $200. Maybe it's something that you just have to try for yourself.....

I don't know if this helps you:
On my system, 3930K 16G Ram, Win 7 64, Sonar X2 64
I loaded 10 Greys on their own stereo bus: was just tickling Sonar's CPU readout. Windows read-out was about 1 - 2%
Separately, then loaded 10 Reds: again, tickling Sonar even less. Windows about 0 - 1%
Separately, then loaded 10 MU: about the same tickle as Grey lol, 2 - 3 % Windows.
This new framework is very efficient!
Man, if you can't hear the difference then steer clear. It's honestly black and white to me.
They sound incredible. That red model will be awesome for the presence bump alone... I'd be interested to hear what that does to a muddy mix - even with less than 1dB of gain reduction. I can imagine stacking all the compressors and getting some cool results too.

Absolutely, their color and character is great but VBC broke that stigma of how digital compressors handle transients. That's the biggest thing for me here. The transient attack and grab of these compressors is amazing. That's always been kind of the missing link with itb compression. Sure there were ways around it or to compensate for it but just to observe this with a plugin by itself is very cool.

@ about 5:00....you're telling me you can hear a world of a difference? I seriously worry that my ears are totally fucked sometimes when I listen to comparisons like these. :/

bryan honestly I don't pay too much attention to youtube audio. Instead, demo for yourself or listen to the wave files that were posted before the release. Before thinking you have bad ears, give those files with better fidelity a chance.

I wonder if that means I could buy a copy between me and a mate and we'd each have a licence for it?
Or maybe both licences are tied to the same ilok account so making it a no-go?

Yep, used the full rack on the master buss, opens up a lot of air.
Later today I'll try post a before an after on an acoustic mix, which was simply the VBC rack on the master, and using the mid-side on the FG-Mu to do some independent compression there. It might be a honeymoon glow, but I actually think it took it from a typical bedroom mix to something I would be happy to pay studio time to achieve.
