I don't know how well these guys are known outside of Japan, they're certainly a new discovery for me. Very theatrical, reminds me a bit of Therion in that regard. Check it out, this stuff is killing me right now!

That's better.

Glad you enjoy! I discovered them a few years ago while looking for new Japanese metal bands to get into (I'm into a lot of the neoclassical stuff these guys produce, thanks to Yngwie). I love the music, but I'm not completely sold on the singer.

For a Japanese band, they enjoy a decent international fan base, surprisingly. They've played in the U.S. and several other countries as well. In my opinion, I think this had a lot to do with their look, their use of iTunes, and social media.

Sadly, the latest album, Versailles, is their "last" and they are performing their last show in December (versailles.syncl.jp/?p=info&id=15940). Of course, they could always pull a X Japan and get back together in the future... ya never know.

There have been a few threads about them over the last few years. From what I can remember, they have toured the US. I like the music, but not a big fan of the vocals. Hizaki had some projects before Versailles, and I think during, and I'm pretty sure he formed the band, so I have little doubt that he'll come up with something else.
