Ok so does anyone know what amp the guys are using on Obzen??

I know the models are all the same mostly as the POD X3/PRO , with more mic choices though.

There is very little bass in the sound or low mids - but it doesnt sound harsh by any means.

I seem to remember they ran the POD through a poweramp and used the TLM mic - but seem to remember Marten in an interview saying they ended up just going direct (can find the interview now doh!!)

Im going to try to match the tone as close as possible at the weekend on my POD X3 - my guess is they are using either the LINE 6 Modern High gain or the Big Bottom with bass very low and mids/treble cranked.

think i've got it!!!

using voxengo span and a snippet of only gtr (1st verse)

Line 6 big bottom - Line 6 4x12 - fx boost - Post eq on POD = low cut @ 75hz 3db ... 250hz cut 12db .....2.5khz boost 5db ......9.3khz cut 12db

it matches the tone almost perfect on voxengo span spectrum analyzer
but you need to be able to play as tight as Thorendal haha
it seems harsh at first but with quadtracking and Bass its fecking rockin!!!!

OBZEN TONE TEST

No Bass just gtr's Quadtracked excuse the untight playing - No EQ in the DAW

Sounds close to me - just compared it again to the CD -
