Vocal mics for $700 or less

What's the "go to" vocal mic for something in that price range? Metal growls, definitely some cleans in there... but no high pitched shrieks. You guys let me know!

Actually yeah, why not. For YEARS I've been using a Neumann U89i for ALL vocals and it's worked great. It's only since a few months that I have the SM7 and I like it a lot, but I think LDC's work great as well.
