On a budget, I'd definitely recommend the SM7. Sooooo flexible, durable, cheap, and takes processing very well.

Yep. This mic is great on a ot of things. It's probably one of the best sounding/ most versatile Dynamic microphone I 've tried.

Very strange since Bjork made one her recent albums solely with an SM57 and a powerbook.

There's no "best" mic. I'm sure you know that.
