i was there last year to see bloodbath. front line 
this year i'll be there, too.

I'll be there, for the fifth time. 
It's only about 50 kilometers away from Hamburg...
I especially look forward to Emperor and Atheist, both bands I could never hope to see live.

Well, I won't play the cash cow anymore for the makers of Wacken...
I'm from the Saarland anyway, so this was the hell of a journey every year with increasingly less reward.
I saw Emperor on their tour for "IX Equillibrium", and they were well worth getting lost in Strasbourg back then...
Atheist would be interesting, but in such a festival environment, it seems less appealing to me anyway. They are not fit for a big stage, nor are they for the mainstream crowd that forms the largest part of the Wacken audience...
with a little help of our dumbass German magazines though, I think one could well hype Atheist so everybody finds it cool to like them...Yet I don't see that anybody would start that craze. For this, Atheist must be on a large label...
