I saw Atheist, but I didn't see more than 20 minutes, because they bored me. And I even enjoy them on studio.
Well Atheist is sort of like Opeth as far as live shows go, or it at least looks that way on bootlegs. If you don't like Opeth's live shows, I doubt you'll really enjoy Atheist's.
Which songs did they play? Did they play And The Psychic Saw? I love that song!

Atheist is NOTHING like opeth

Different music, different presentation. They are TOTALLY different... but made you say that?

I know they are totally different. But I meant that they are similar as far as that it's about the musicianship and integrity as opposed to running around on stage and stuff like that. Some people find that boring, but I happen to enjoy that.
Death was also a band like that.

In the old bootleg I have of Atheist, they were pretty much standing still, maybe banging their heads a little. Maybe they act differently at festivals.
I like it when bands crack jokes on stage, but sometimes it is a bit much. Like with Killswitch Engayged. Although the jokes are better than the music  in that case

opeth is standin still on the time, akerfeldt making joins.

the atheist front man was making some jokes too, but also more being the metal frontman. but the biggest different is choy... running around like crazy with that look in his eyes...

Did anybody go to Gates Of Metal? Apparently, Mayhem caused some huge controversy by their stage show. Some animal rights group is making a big deal about their live show. http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=56278 The article has pics and links to two more articles about the show.
Did anybody see this? What I don't get is that this pretty much a typical Mayhem live show for like the past 15 years, so why are people complaining now?

Cause in the country where they played during this festival it is forbidden to use dead animals.

It's not forbidden, they just need a permit. But what I meant to say that they have been doing it for 15 years, that they have played in Sweden before. Nobody ever went crazy like this before, why now? This is not the first time they've ever played Sweden. They've even played in the US before (I know the vocalist of the band who opened for them in for one of the shows).
