So who am I going to meet at Wacken?
 it's gonna be fun

I'm so there. Would be cool to greet you, Nathalie. Lets see if you can find me! I'll be wearing my Mabool t-shirt the whole Wacken. I have it on on all gigs and festivals I attend to, it's just a tradition, I guess, hehe. And then it's not bad promotion for the band either.. I guess?

And Wacken states that our guys will be having a meet & greet time? I'm so there. I'm taking my OL cd's with me. Autographs, yay! :D

I wish I could go to Wacken. Maybe next year to see Immortal (I think it's Wacken that they were confirmed for)

me, me, me :))) :goggly: i'll be there :) And no-one can take me wacken, cause there are no bombs around.

Yep, Immortal next year. But EMPEROR this year!!

This reminds me, outside of OL, what will you guys/girls be showing up to? I know I have a somewhat full schedual.

Important stuff for me: Opeth, In Extremo, COB, Ministry, D'espairray/Celtic Frost (I want to see both, but can't :( ), Vreid, Battlelore, Nocturnal Rites, Arch Enemy, Atheist, Emperor and Subway to Salley.

Maybe also Victory, Scorpions, Mortal Sin, End of Green, Wintersun and Carnivore.

Pink Throne- I'm easy to spot, just go where the band is and I'm with them.
It would be very cool to meet you.
If there's a lot of people coming from the forum- we should do a forum meet! A little bird told me that Magdlena is also coming, all the way from Mexico!

BC-A, if you have a problem with getting a tent, you are welcome to mind and don't get me wrong here. I will be at the festival together with my brother.

You have to stay in tents? What ever happened to staying in a hotel, motel or an inn? You could even share a room if it's expensive. Do they stop you from returning to the festival site if you leave?

By the way, for the record, I am pissed as hell that I cannot go to this. I want to see Atheist, Emperor, Celtic Frost, Orphaned Land, Opeth, Vreid well almost every band there this year.

I cannot even go a full day without showering. I just feel gross, especially when you're out in the heat all day.

who has time for showers or leaving for a hotel nearby...festivals are all about music around the clock

as long as you have a moneybelt in a safe and invisible place on your body and the shoes out of reach of strangers during the night you're pretty much set...metal festivals are all about getting filthy and listening to great music

What time does the festival finish for the day?
I'd rather skip the bands I don't like to do my business then get back in time to see the bands I do like. I would think there would be at least some kind of a place to stay around there.
But I hate being filthy. I guess I'm too much of a spoiled American or I have a case of OCD hahahahahaha

But what is this talk about hiding your shoes? Besides that I wear sandals in the summer, do people really steal shoes? Do they try on the shoes to see if they fit or they just check the size and hope that it fits?

Fuck warm beers. Just buy dry ice and put it in a cooler. But they really let you bring your own beer? Places here charge between 6 to 10 bucks for a watered down beer. Water, which I guess they haven't found a way to water down yet, goes for like 5 bucks usually.

Haven't been on Wacken before, so I can't tell. But I'd highly guess that you can take your own beer, since the bus I'm going on will stop at a bordershop (and german beer = almost free).

Haha, people will take your shoes mostly just for fun. You can't really get anything out of old shoes, really. Unless your name is Al Bundy. ;p

I don't like warm lager either but keeping a cooler is a problem because to festivals you're supposed to go packed as light as possible...a moneybelt a backpack with clothes and food and 10 litres of water(for each person) for about 4 days, sunblock, sunglasses and a tent and that's it and off course don't ever leave your stuff with a stranger or without anyone watching it.

that's about it...wacken is like ozzfest(i'm sure you'll find the footage) only people are more civillized... hey it europe

I've never been to Assfest. I'd rather spend the day listening to the CDs or watching DVDs of the bands I like than have to watch a bunch of shitty metalcore bands while $haron gets my money. The only good bands there this year were Dragonforce and SYL. Gigantour looks like it will kick ass. Megadeth, Arch Enemy, Opeth, Overkill and Into Eternity plus more bands to be announced soon. Even if none of the other bands announced are good, those 5 bands will kick some major ass.

Is it true that they have a bunch of water faucets that you can drink from and cool off from at European festivals?

Don't they have like parking lots though? If somebody rents a car, then you can store all your stuff in there. You can probably keep like a dozen coolers filled with beer and dry ice.

How cheap is German beer though?

Even though some of the whole experience isn't really to my personal tastes, it sounds like a lot of fun. Maybe I'll go next year if Immortal doesn't announce US dates or if the lineup of the festival is good enough. I don't know anyone that listens to metal though, so it's not like I would even have to camp out or anything.
