I know this will sound totally gay, but Pinkthrone is right. It's not like sex is too hard to find but metal can be. Unfortunately, other than a quickie during shitty bands or in between sets, it's very hard to combine the both.
Besides, from what I've heard, everybody there gets piss drunk anyway. I would never have sex with a drunk chick. That's just morally wrong since she cannot really consent to it.

Unfortunately, I am very spoiled. Ever since I was a little kid, I've been showering twice a day. I've even been wearing cologne since I was a kid since I used to use my dad's then I started buying my own after he left. I have like 5 bottles of body spray and 15 bottles of cologne. I also have shitloads of bottles of shower gel. It's not like it's too easy to meet people when you smell terrible.

Metal head- you are a spoiled sissy! You really have no idea of having fun at a festival? And for the record- I do shower every day. 1- because I like it 2- because there is no other way to get your hair detangled after a long day of headbanging ( note: my hair is quite long so...)


By the looks of this thread I am going to have a wonderful time at the festival ! I have so many friends to meet from around the globe who are coming and trying to find the forum members- there wil lbe no time left for music. Well- festival days last 36 hours ( I don't drink, so I sustain)

Yay, so there's atleast one other sober person at Wacken. Hehe. Not that I don't drink beer, I just don't get wasted (unless it's a accident...)

What's wrong with getting wasted? I used to go through a lot of trouble sneaking liquor into concerts, but that was before that whole shooting thing a couple of years ago. I used to be able to pour clear alcohol into a water bottle and put that in a bookbag. Too bad that won't work anymore.

And for the record, I do shower on a regular base on the festival as well
It's worth the 2,5€ - you feel clean and refreshed afterwards, that's great, especially when its hot.

@ Metal head87: There's live-music from 11 in the morning 'till 3 o'clock the next day, and there's Metal Disco & Karaoke untill 5 in the morning - so there's plenty of stuff to do all day.

I would NEVER stay in a hotel during a festival, yu usually have so much fun at the campgrounds. It's worth the inconvenience for sure.

And back to a forum-Meeting:
Any suggestions for a time/place for a meeting?
We'll arrive early on wednesday, so I got plenty of time. What about meeting on thursday afternoon, before the bands start playing?
It will be hard or impossible to find a time where everyone has no band to watch on Friday or Saturday, so I'd prefer meeting on Thursday - be it in the afternoon or right after the Scorpions finished (around midnight)
And where should we meet?
At the container where you get the Wristbands perhaps?

I´ll be at Wacken!!! Like every year since 1999!

This year, we are 5 guys driving there (approx. 350 km.), stopping in at the border to get Danish beer at German prices.

Wacken is the best place on earth during next week, like every first week of august for the last years! All this talk about how filthy it is and how people would wanna stay in hotels, amazes me. Living in a tent, being filthy and meeting all sorts of people, is what it´s all about! Until now I haven´t let the bill decide whether I should go or not, the bands I go to see are just a bonus.

There are toilets at the campsite! Both those filthy plastic boxes that get over filled within two days, as well as clean flush toilets. These may cost 0.50 euro to visit, but it´s money well spent, once you´ve seen the other toilets! In connection to the pay-toilets there are usually showers, I believe they cost 3 or 4 euro, I´m not sure, I´ve yet to shower at the festival!

You can your own beer to the campsite, it´s quite easy to get it there, since you park your car and put up your tent right next to it...
You can drink your beer everywhere but inside the area around the stages, where you get searched and illegal stuff will get confiscated.

There are 'supermarkets' around the campsite, that sell ice cold beer at ok prices, and there is the Biergarten! My favourite place to spend some time between concerts!!!

Anyway, you´ll have to be there to find out what a great place it is!

The concerts I´m looking forward to, are OL, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, Korpiklaani, Scorpions, Carnivore, and a few others.

What you do is, you upload your pictures from the phone. It sends the pics to the phone's website and yyou sign in, then you email it to yourself, or you can just save it to your computer from there. But I wouldn't recommend doing that though since they charge you for that.

There's a lot of bands I would love to see this year but I cannot go this time. If King Diamond was playing though, I would be on the next flight to Germany and I'll "persuade" someone to see me their ticket. I've seen him a few times and those were the best shows of my life so it would be worth everything.
Maybe I'll go next year to see Immortal. I've always wanted to see them play, especially if Abbath does all that fire blowing stuff while Horgh does a drum solo.
Seeing Emperor this year would have been nice though. I missed them when they came here since the shows were sold out.

man why do people have to ruin everything? i hate this... i just finished watching born on the 4th of july, and i realised nothing ever changed. why are people so short sighted?
