Wacken- who will be there

:OMG: Do you at least know Morbid Tales and Into The Crypts of Rays? Those are essential!

Melechesh did an amazing cover of Babylon Fell (Jade Serpent) by the way. Dimmu Borgir's cover(s) of Nocturnal Fear kicked ass too as did Opeth and Obituary's versions of Circle Of Tyrants.

There three main scenes, and one little scene. The little scene just jumps in on the mainscenes times, or something like that. Haven't really noticed it, since I'm only seeing two bands on it. But the main scenes have two scenes were bands play at the same time all the time, so you need to choose which one, but when the bands stop, there the third main scene which plays in the pauses of the two main scenes, so there's about an hour of nothing on two of the scenes, and the third scene has a band playing in that period of time, and when the bands on the twin scenes get on there's nothing on the third scene.

Like:
First scene: xxband 12.00 o'clock, stops at 13.00, starts again 14.00
Second scene: yyband 12.00 o'clock, stops at 13.00, starts again 14.00
third scene: zzband 13:05, stops at 13.55, starts again 15.05

That's pretty much the system of Wacken.

So the bands end up playing more than once? I never knew that. That must be hard.
I'm surprised that another band would play during the headliner though.
That place must be humongous for the sounds to not mix.

I don't think you can hear one band from the other stage. :)

Oh, and no, they don't play twice. I just made a mistake.

First scene: xxband 12.00 o'clock, stops at 13.00, ffband starts 14.00
Second scene: yyband 12.00 o'clock, stops at 13.00, ggband starts 14.00
third scene: zzband 13:05, stops at 13.55, jjband starts 15.05

Now it should make more sense :)

and there's no real headliners on Wacken. I would think that Emperor would be the band that carried most fans, but I'm not sure.

Mr. Moose will not be in the crowd I guess, because it is going to its new owner. Tal has been bugging me about Mr. Moose ever since they met October last year when the guys were ere in Holland. It was the pet of my nephews and Tal wanted to take it, but I didn't allow for that to happen.
Now my nephews have generously decided to donate him to the band!!!

Wait till you see its new wardrobe- hehehe.

I guess it is possible that Emperor would attract the largest audience, but what about Celtic Frost? I'm sure that they would attract more people.

Mr. Moose? I think I missed something. Since when can you take a pet to a festival? Since when can you have a moose for a pet?

You must not have listened to Monotheist yet. It's a masterpiece! My favorite Celtic Frost album, and I'm a huge CF fan! I even think Cold Lake isn't so bad. Who cares if they looked glam, it doesn't mean the music was glam. Motley Poo or cRapp never were as heavy as that. Cold Lake may not have been as heavy as the albums before it were, but I hate it when people call it glam.
But anyway, check out Monotheist. It is extremely heavy, very dark, really doomy and very experimental. Obscured is my favorite song on the album. It takes me to a whole new world when I listen to that.

There was no forum meet?

Do you remember Celtic Frost's playlist, or Emperor's? How were the bands?

Blind Guardian, Saxon, Stratovarius, Grave Digger, Therion, Samael and Schandmaul have just been confirmed for Wacken 07. Stratovarius are pretty great, but if I go, it will be for Immortal probably. I wonder who else will be playing there.

SAMAEL?!?!?!??!?

HOLY FUCKING YAY!!!

I was going anyway, but that pretty much just made me fucking happy.

.. I didn't see Celtic Frost, and no forum meeting I attended too. Mostly because I have no idea how people here look.

Setlist if i remember correctly, probably not in right order:

Ocean's Land
El meod Naala
Sins of Babylon
Find yourself, discover god
Birth of the three
Halo Dies
Norra El Norra
Ornaments of Gold

I was late for the meet and greet, I went to the swimming pool and it took more time than i expected. was juuuuust in time for them to sign my mabool LP... they were just about to leave when i got there, if i would have been 2 minutes later i wouldnt have seen them. too bad... really would have liked talking to them some more!

You didn't see Celtic Frost? Heretic!
But overall, how was the festival? Was it amazing, orgasmic, or do you feel that you've completed your life's goals?
How much were the tickets anyway?
