WACKEN 2008

Wacken has become worse. It just sucks, it's not a cool metal party from fans for fans anymore. Loud Coca Cola and other advertisings on the huge screens, a very high ticket-price.

Bands are not the reason for me to visit festivals, I go because I want to have this "metal-festival-feeling". That's imo impossible with min. 80.000 people around. Wacken has become a mainstream festival with mainstream people, there's no metal-feeling at all.

Fans who are new to the whole festival-thing might be pleased or even think "the more people, the better". For me, 2008 will be the first year without Wacken since 6 years.

I know that some users on this board liked 2007 (perhaps even more because they had to travel a long way). I hated 2007. So many people, so many idiots.

I agree with you 1000000000000%

Why do you care, you wont go, faggot

I might go. I'm contemplating it very seriously. Needs more epic bands though.

I'm going, ordered my ticket already

 It would cost me a mini-fortune to go. Travel to and from Germany. Festival tickets, food, travel inside Germany. Who knows what else. Prolly cost me 3000 or more I'd estimate :erk: I'll double check. Give me a minute.

But as I said, I am seriously contemplating going.

Imo, the bands werent even close to the funnest part of wacken

I don't drink or piss on people's tents so :p I NEED BANDS

3-day-ticket cost = $137
Roundtrip Ticket to Hamburg, Germany = approx $1180
6 day car rental = $290
Food/Other budget = $250 (at most)

= $1857

(Unless I'm forgetting something else...)

This means I could go if I saved up, but needs moar good bands though.

like you've been there

anyway, yeah last year there were to many people.
but wacken stays wacken and I still like it and will go again next year anyway
I will order my ticket in 2 weeks, when I've got the money :p

oh yeah and btw, bands are the less important thing at wacken :p (exept for some)
fun ftw :D

I don't drink or smoke or do drugs. SO the bands are for me.

yeah I can understand :)
I mean, there are always some bands I really want to see.
but I spend more time at the camparea then at the festival area (well, this year cause we stood very close and could hear everything at our tent and only had to walk 2 minutes to see it :p)
but the nights at the tent are the best :D
but well, indeed, if you don't smoke or drink (I don't do drugs either) it's less fun I guess
