I've been there once,it's a quite nice place

me and my friends were walkinh through the district after a concert when we met this american guy.one of my friends followed him into the hotel where he stayed to get some money.when my friend came out he told me there were about 10 extremely wasted english and irishmen who made fun of him

Isn't 18 the age limit to buy alcohol of any %? At least here in Spain it is, which is kinda good, because now that we're 18 we start the party at the rehearshal place with stuff we buy on the way to rehearshals and then when we're already drunk as fucking monkeys we continue the party at the local bars, It's pretty funny,

Ingrid is right, in Finland age limit is 18 years for <22% alcohol and 20 years for >22% alcohol.

I'm more and more happy with my decision not to go to Wacken again.

Do you people remember that Cynic (NWoBHM from UK) was confirmed? And that many people were a bit disappointed that it isn't the prog-death band from the USA called Cynic too?

Well, the Wacken organisation thought throughout the whole negotiation with Cynic (UK), that they were dealing with Cynic (USA). During the WHOLE negotiation! Telephone conversations to ENGLAND included! UNTIL CYNIC WERE OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED!!!!

When the Wacken guys realized their failure, they sent a wikipedia-link about Cynic (US) to Cynic (UK) and asked: Is that you?

Finally, they just kicked them from the billing without informing the Wacken fans in a newsletter or something. The old newsletter (in which Cynic was confirmed together with Mercenary) mysteriously doesn't contain Cynic information anymore.

I went to Wacken last year and saw my favourite band of all time Live at the front. I met cool people and had a blast. So I'm going again this year, and the lineup is even better so I'm probably going to have even more fun than last year. As long as I enjoy it I dont care how "big" or "commercial" it gets.
