what are some decent earbuds

something like 20 dollars really. really hi-fi sound is in my opinion a waste when you're mainly going to use the device on noisy buses etc. i'm actually having second thoughts about even getting earbuds at all, maybe i should just buy a new pair of my old favourite yamaha rh-5ma's

Sennheiser CX300

They are somewhat a cross between "earbuds" and those expensive ones you stick in your ears, but only around $20

They sound about as great as you can get for something of that level of quality, but way better than any ol' earbud at least.

I don't know that I would say the bass response is exaggerated, but it's pretty damn good as well as overall clarity of the music. Basically they have an earplug on them, you squish it and stick it in your ear just like you would an earplug. They come with different size plugs, and if they wear out, guess what....you don't even need to worry about buying exact replacements for them, you can just stick conventional earlplugs on them and off you go.

I guess the main draw they went for is that they're supposed to block out noise, which they do, as much as an ear plug would...but I just like them for the quality of sound that comes out of them, and they stay snug, so the sound stays consistent.

Modern? I dunno...I got my first pair in 2001, at which time they WERE $20. Now I see them on Amazon going for a measly $12. I seriously doubt you can get anything better for 12 bucks haha.

sad to say Apple actualy have some decent sounding plugs, cost about $100 Aud. I like them but i have to say i do like the look of those $12 ones posted before just like the concept of squishing the expeandable crap first, I should really investigate getting some proper full headphones though,
