i'm thinking about taking on the Bass myself, what kind of gear you have?

I play an MTD Kingston Saratoga 5 string bass through a sansamp bass driver DI. I practice through Sennheiser headphones because I live in a condo so I plug the di/preamp into a small mixer. I also play guitar but honestly I have much more fun playing bass but thats just me

awesome, everyone says good things about the Sansamp. i have to play guitar with headphones because i dont have a decent amp haha i want to take on bass just to for rehearsals/gigs, and not be stuck with my headphones.

Nice! When i'll have a need for an amp (or if I move into a house) i'll probably go with a sansamp rbi preamp with a power amp into Gallien-Krueger 4x10 cabs
