Tape sound is also awesome, I once recorded a CD onto tape with my dad using a Technics 1500US and it actually sounded better. It's no wonder people use this for mixing and mastering.

Fucking awesome. We bouth a Studer preamp from a guy here that takes out the modules from an old Studer Console and turns them into 1U rack units. It sounds wonderful.

So what is the difference between the Technics and the Studer?

The Studer has a digital control panel and better components overall. Side to side you can hear quite a difference in audio quality.
