Hallways of Always
So, this thread is about what you do!

Describe your job (or if you're a student, your most involved hobby) and post pictures if you have any. It'd be interesting to see what all of the Symphony X fans here do for work.

Well, I'm a student now, hoping to double major in math and physics. I used to work at a tire shop before deciding to go to college. I have had a few people ask me about guitar lessons. I might start giving them to help pay for tuition/books, so I don't have to sell body parts when I get out.

Hobbies are guitar (Obviously!:p), going to the library and pulling math books off of the shelf to work on has also occupied a lot of my time recently. I also laugh and say strange things a lot, if that counts as a hobby!

I'm studying BBA. Major in Economics..playing in a band called 'Kalponik' as guitarist...we released 6 tracks in different compilation albums. and a promoter of Symphony X in BD..whn I meet new people, I write a cd for him/her including all the albums..at least I try to ..

I'm a Field Service Engineer for Sky-Skan Inc. I travel worldwide upgrading and installing new A/V systems, computers, speakers, every aspect of a planetarium/IMAX theater.

This is the outside of the dome at California Academy of Sciences

Here we've got the work lights on behind the dome, and the alignment grid up in Philadelphia. This is going to be an all nighter.

This is a blurry Cellphone shot of the California Academy "Rack Room" - called thus because of the racks of PCs and gear. It's freezing in here, to work here more than 10min you need to wear a winter jacket. The AC is on so that the computers don't overheat and catch fire.

Here's another behind the dome shot of Fels in Philadelphia. The gridwork is what holds the dome screen up. The screen itself is a thin sheet of metal that can be bent easily to shape... which also means if you bump or fall into it, you make a huge human shaped dent that needs to be fixed. Almost all of the wiring and gear for the projection is back here behind the dome.

I'm a full time guitar teacher at what we can officially and proudly say is the largest Paul Green's School of Rock franchise location in the country, in Chatham, NJ. The past 3 seasons I've also directed shows for them: Classic Metal, British Invasion, and this season I'm doing Iron Maiden Vs Judas Priest.

And besides that I've got that Dark Empire band going on...

I got my master's degree last December and am a multimedia/graphic designer. Unfortunately, I'm back to doing freelance work because I was laid off recently from my last company due to a three-way merger. Excellent timing with the economy going to shit.

I manage a wireless engineering department. I get to drive all over my state, walk on top of the tallest buildings I can find, drive up to the tops of tall mountains and see the curvature of the earth, and tell a bunch of people what to do with their day. :) And I do a good bit of flying as well.

Here are some photos I've taken from my job travels this past year or so. The pics are from a camera phone, so please excuse the bad quality.

Cool stormy day photo from my arriving plane. The pic shows the Sandia Mountains in the backgrounds, the eastern backdrop for Albuquerque.

Same day, sunset shot out the plane window right after landing.

I have a bachelor's degree in information systems and work for a legal solutions/document services company as a "database specialist". The job title is a bit of a misnomer, but basically I take a client's digital documents and convert them to TIFF images, and store them in a database format that allows for quick & easy retrieval/review. Along the way there are myriad processes/procedures to go through...not the most exciting job, but it pays and has benefits, so it'll do for now ;)

ABQ, were those a couple shots of Shiprock? I've never seen it with snow...interesting. Here's a couple pics I took of it in 2002...

Student, currently doing my last year of A-levels (the qualifications that get you into University in the UK), studying History, Psychology and Computing (strange mix I know). Part-time job working in a Homeware store, planning on going to University next year.

I am a Datacenter Coordinator for Abanco, LLC (www.abanco.com). We do wireless handheld processing technology. The position is really a jack of (careful with that spelling, Eugene) all trades IT position. I do everything from system administration, network administration, Service Desk, system security, as well as an untitled manager/supervisor of the Help/Service Desk staff. Due to financial compliancy regulations, as well as company regs, I can't do any pics of the environment here. Seen one datacenter, you've seen them all... :) I've been in the IT field since 1985, and I'm not making anywhere near the money I used to, or should be making. We spun off of Abanco International, which did credit card processing for merchants, as well as the hand held product. Last year, the owner sold the merchant side, and I was asked by the CEO to stay with them for the remaining business. In what little spare time I have available, I care for my dad who lost a leg earlier in the year, and try to keep up with his house & mine, and also am teaching him how to drive again. This was also the first year I was onboard the Prog Power USA crew as a guitar technician, and worked hard enough to earn what hopefully is a permanent spot on the crew. I play guitar as a hobby, and wish I had more time to devote myself to it.

ABQShredHead, really nice photos there...

Well, I am one of the students... Studying a lot of languages, which is a strenght of mine and possibly writing, I'm hoping to have a job where I could travel a lot. My free time goes with music, drumming, visiting forums and shit like that...

I work for a Govt funded Community Sevice. I organise transport for old people
old-people-sex.jpg

Student at Tri Tech College in SC. Studying Computer Engineering with hopes to get a nice job when I graduate. Maybe move back to where I'm from (Kuwait) and work for my Dad's IT business.

Play guitar/drums/piano for fun, love to draw, love to take photographs. Avid video game player with emphasis in fighting games, and I build custom arcade sticks too!

No job, but looking!
