What do you think of this drumset?

Is it really hand made, or are they just drilling holes and assembling a kit out of Keller shells?

Maple is great, but you might find that you prefer Birch for aggressive music; so if that's mainly all you're doing, it's something to consider. Maple is a more well rounded tone wood, though, and will work well on just about anything.

Can you tell us the brand, or are you still searching/not allowed to tell? Most of the US "Custom" companies are just using Keller shells and upcharging their work like 4 times what it's worth. Nothing against Keller shells, they sound great, but if the shells aren't being made from scratch, I wouldn't give them my money, unless the price is actually reasonable. If you had the tools to do it yourself, you could make the same kit most of those companies make, for around $1000 or less.

Yeah dude used is probably still the best option. Used kits are cheap as FUCK right now. I'm trying to sell one of my extra kick drums, a pearl session custom. Bought it used for $250 a couple years ago. Can't get anybody interested for more than $120 now. I've been seeing some killer deals.
