Used D'Addarios and Ernie Balls for some time, started using GHS, didn't recognise alot of change in sound
but I could get them way cheaper. DR were fine, too - got 3 packs of the Rotosound Michael Amott strings
for free (from different places a few months between each time) and they all sounded pretty dull and dead
from the beginning.
Too bad because the string gauges were really nice for me, but even the Harley Benton strings sounded
better...

Which ones? Value ones for less than a € a pack or the regular ones (~3.40€)?

I'm ordering some shit right now and maybe I'll buy a bunch of these. Do they worth it for recording?

I used GHS Boomers for many years. Started using Dunlop's about a year-and-a-half ago.

D'addario for guitar, as I'm not in the position to be (or needing to) change strings constantly for Bass I'll often get some Warwick EMP coated bass strings... they hold tone for longer and sound really good...

I've used Dean Markley Blue Steel 2558 strings for many years now. While I've tried others I keep going back to the Blue Steels.

Started with D'Addario. Then EB for a while.
Found that D'Addario lasted longer than EB, so I switched back.
Maybe giving GHS a chanche too somewhen, that one pack I once had was quite nice.

funny that you mention that, i got the same impression when i tried out the rotosound strings that came with the bareknuckle pickups, and they sounded dull and dead from the beginning

i used to play Ernie Ball strings a long time, but i have switched to Elixir Strings about 18 months ago and i´m very happy with them

I used to be all about Elixir, but now I go with D'addario nickel wounds almost 100% of the time, considering they sound great and can usually get 10 packs for about 30 dollars. Sometimes, if I want some cheaper strings or a more custom-style set without having to choose individual string gauges, i'll go with some GHS Low-Tuned strings for that .011 - .07. However, i have been meaning to check out ClearTone for some time now.
