what happened to earache?

I've actually think they've gotten back on track. The signing of Usurper was a great move, because they totally deserve being on a label like Earache after so many years of hard work. Signing Deicide was also good, and maybe Deicide will relight the fire their first 2 albums had, because it's a new label to start fresh.

Plus, I like the fact they're reissuing all the great classics like Nocturnus, etc, so that the new younger fans can hear these albums all us old schoolers love.

Insision's one promising death-band. They're on Wicked World though but isn't it kinda same anyway? I think Earache's doing good job now..

I think the scene was a bit stronger and more authentic 10 years ago, but there's still alot of good bands out there today. Earache can't control how the music changes and how people's tastes change, but they have the opportunity to give people good music they wouldn't hear anywhere else.

Well, looking thru their roster (not including Elitist or Wicked World) I'd say I'm a fan of: Cult of Luna, Decapitated, Hate Eternal, Morbid Angel and Usurper.

Id have to agree about Deicide.. One great debut, a lukewarm follow up and monotonous generic death metal ever since. Are they worthy of such a signing? Surely there are better bands out there in need of a good label?

Hey. Am new here but just thought I'd post my thoughts.
I think that Earache are still a great label, but for a while, they weren't as good as they used to be. I love bands like Akercocke, Cult of Luna, Decapitated, Hate Eternal, Morbid Angel and The Haunted, and I'm happy to see that they're making good records. I think they are on the way up again. Also Wicked World and Elitist have released some smashing albums such as Farmakon's debut (got it on Monday when I had to get my toe nail removed, ouch - totally made me feel better! )

first of all, what the fuck are you doing on here if Earache has supposedly gone to shit anyway?


second of all, aside from the cheapest CD's & merch on the net... Earache also have fucking Decapitated, Hate Eternal, Morbid Angel, Ephel Duath, Akercocke, Deicide, The Haunted, The Berzerker, and god knows how many other kickass bands.

plus the fact is that virtually all the bands that actually left Earache's roster for various reasons have now long since split up... Carcass, Godflesh, At The Gates and god knows how many others.

Decapitated used to be on Wicked World, till they got a promotion.

how you can leave out Ephel Duath too, simply because they're on Elitist is another misnomer IMO.
