What is the best CD of all time?

Very difficult to answer obviously but in terms of songwriting for me I would have to say "Images & Words" or Mindcrime...:Spin:

This one will have heads scratching
Rush-Signals
while I was a bigtime Rush fan since 2112,and saw how their music evolved, for some reason, this far surpassed Moving Pictures(which at the time was my favorate alltime CD)
This CD has my alltime favorate Rush song(Analog Kid,which I have covered)
This is the CD that made me want to play guitar(and this was their most keyboard orientated CD)

If Rush never existed,Queensryche-Rage For Order,Fates Warning-APSoG,and Conception Flow would all be up there

Can't answer with just one CD either....and this isn't a 'favorite' CD question, it's the "best." That's scary.

If we limit it to the metal genre, I'd probably go with Operation: Mindcrime, or DT's SFaM (I&W is great, but I prefer listening to live versions of the songs since they sound more organic that way.)

"Best CD of all, ever?" Hmm, maybe Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon.....

It's a toss up from Metallica's Master of Puppets or Slayer's Reign In Blood.

My picks are:

non-metal: Bruce Springsteen's "Born In The U.S.A." :worship:

Metal: Dio's "Holy Diver" :headbang:

Hard Rock: Badlands - s/t Ray Gillen & Jake E Lee :worship:

Progressive Metal: Dream Theater's "Awake" This to me is the flawless prog metal album. :worship:

Best CD of all time?

I got this 24 month variable APR CD based on internet stock in late 1999. Man I made a lot of money!

Or, "Magnets" by the Vapors. I am not sure which.

Iron Maiden - Somewhere In Time

I'll have to go with Iron Maiden - Somewhere In Time. There are most definately other great cd's of all time, but this one just stands out for me.
I prefer the masterpiece "Piece in Mind" by Maiden myself

This is a ridiculously tough thing to ponder......if I had to choose just one, I'd have to vote for QR's Mindcrime - by far the most ground breaking and relevant piece of music written (in any genre).

Some very close runner-ups:
Dream Theater "Images & Words" (mind-blowing stuff and totally flawless)
Iron Maiden "Piece of Mind" (still sounds fresh)
AC/DC "Back in Black" (the numbers speak for itself)
Rush "2112' (....and the meek shall inherit the earth!!!)

Wow, My choice would have to be OPERATION MINDCRIME. Everything was laid down perfectly for this record.

Runner ups: Iron Maiden - Piece of Mind
Judas Priest - Painkiller
AC-DC - Back in Black
Van Halen - Fair Warning
Metallica - Either Master of Puppets or And Justice for All.
