What lubricants ?

Yeah, but it's that whole paranoia thing. I don't know. I know it's a 55 litre tank. I also know I only put 20-25 litres in at a pop. I know that means I can go about as far again. But the fuel gauge gets below the bottom line at that point (it's some sort of fancy graduated gauge, and the bottom line is about 1/3 of the way from the bottom) and I don't particularly want to test that theory.

It's not like I have to go out of my way or anything, there's a servo on my way out to the main road, and it doesn't exactly take a lot of time either. I'm comfortable with my refueling schedule.

I once drove a company car from Sydney to Melbourne with another guy. Being a company car we had a fuel card to use at BP service stations. When we changed over driving we had about 75km to Albury and the big BP there, and about 90km worth of fuel. The fuel light came on when you had 50 km worth of fuel left. That last 30 or so kms with the fuel light on were the longest kms I've ever driven. I'm not sure I even watched the road, I was staring at that light so hard.

I don't even know if the fuel light in my car even works :)

Ive run out of fuel 3 or 4 times. My fuel guage doesn't work so I just put some in every few days.

Fuel gauge doesn't work in the Camira either.

I just fill it up at 000 and 500 on the odometer, and it's fine.

my odometer doesn't work either though!

despite the problems they are a good car! haha. the VL and the VK are the best looking Commodores ever.

I run on empty all the time. The only time I've ever run out of petrol in the Camry was when the fuel gauge cracked a fit once when I was driving home from Canberra early one morning. It said I had almost a quarter of a tank which should have been enough to get me to Pheasants Nest, but I ran out 5 kays north of Mittagong.

I use Castrol $ stroke oil in the Bike and Castrol XChain Oil on the fucking chain..whats the prob?? and I ran out of fuel once crossing a main road in the VK I owned at the time

Southy, after the Castrol "synthetic" ripoff, I stopped using their products. Recently they were bought by BP. At work, if I approach the castrol sales representative for an alternate product, I get a reply call from the BP Technicians (which is the product that I want to replace).

If they stopped lying about synthetics, and kept themselves "aloof", as in technically superior to their owners, rather than just an elitist brandname, I'd be buying their products still.

As to Valvoline, they are lacking in additive packages (although if you add one of their additives - why would an oil company market an oil additive ?), you get a decent oil.....for more than the price of a decent oil.
