how are you liking the opus99 vs beta52 for kick ? I'm still in doubt which kickmic to buy, as there is only budget for one right now.
 
ugh, you guys are making me jealous reading some of this

hopefully in a couple years i'll be moved into a place where i can have a decent studio, until then i can't justify too many recording gear purchases...now guitar gear on the other hand, i don't need to justify buying more of that!

Too early to tell yet. Just got the 52 recently, although I've worked with it somewhat earlier.
They do sound different and the main reason I first bought the Opus was that (IMHO) it was a more versatile mic and the 52 sounds "metal" to me, you know?
I also thought that I can use one on floor tom and the other on kick as required.

There are many options but whatever you decide, don't go for the cheaper ones! :ill:
