Exact same setup here.

I actually chose the Yamahas over a pair of Adam A7 (those were very sweet too, though, I just couldn't justify the higher price of those).

Genelec made some poweramps in the 80's. Not too many models though. I have a Genelec 1067A.

It depends on your room...if you have a big room hs50s are little.
I remember you that Tue Madsen use a pair of hs50m on his little studio (plus a pair of behringer and a pair of jbl)

I'm gonna shoot it out between the Event ASP8s or the Adam A7s. I don't however like how little the driver is in the Adams, nor the fact that they're unshielded.

I tried the ASP8s next to some Genelecs and it smoked all of them. The Genelecs just sounded like standard hi-fi speakers in comparison.

and even if they do, im used to them, and thats all that matters

after realizing how my mixes translated from one to the other, i immediately bought a back up pair just in case.
