After buying hardly any tunes last year, this year I've been merrily spending my way through the iTunes gift cards that I got for Christmas. Here's what I've bought so far:

The Black Dahlia Murder - Deflorate
Obscura - Cosmogenesis
Job for a Cowboy - Ruination
Meshuggah - ObZen
Between Buried and ME - The Great Misdirect
Isis - Panopticon
Born Of Osiris - A Higher Place

I've still got a few bucks left, so what will my next album be? I've been looking but not much has caught my attention.

Sorry no prizes for picking the winner except for a warm fuzzy feeling of warm basking fuzzy warmingness. (Disclaimer: feelings of warmth and fuzziness may not be honoured)

Textures - Silhouettes
The Arusha Accord - The Echo Verses
Hour of Penance - The Vile Misconception
Odious Mortem - Cryptic Implosion
Cynic - Traced in Air

Overkill - "Ironbound" you really need to get this album. It's going to be right up there as my album of the year regardless what else is released - it's that good.

This! Amazing CD and production!

Just bought this (along with As You Drown and Obscura - thanks to your suggestions :headbang::kickass:) and as you said, its definitely some epic business (the packaging and artwork were damn sweet too).

My shopping list is growing!

I tried to buy "Behemoth - Evangelion" but I can't through the iTunes Australia store. Weird because all their other albums are available. Maybe I'll email those lunatics and see if they know why.

"Hour of Penance - The Vile Misconception" is not available on iTunes. "Disturbance" is available, I might by that one.

If you're into thrash, check out Artillery - When Death Comes. Some great fast pumping new thrash from an old band!
The new Nile, "Those Whom the Gods Detest" is pretty brutal too, and Opeth's Watershed is a MUST!

FUCK YEAH @ odius mortem recommendation

immolation - failures for gods if you don't already have it
death metal MASTERPIECE

mikey a is truly in the habit of writing a good riff then repeating it for about 5 times as long as it needs to go on for
doth not a good song make etcetc

edit: plus seeing cynic at the same show as opeth was the final nail the coffin for watershed for me, so you'll have to excuse my somewhat irrational hatred of it haha

but seriously, check out failures for gods, it is a BEAST
