Hey im new to this forum and ive been into metal for a couple years now but I wanna get into a few new bands.Im wondering what bands would be for me if currently my favorite bands are...

Cannibal Corpse
Dimmu Borgir
Amon Amarth
Behemoth
Slipknot(first "metal" band i ever liked)
Fear Factory
Graveworm
HIM
Mayhem
Slayer
Metallica
Iron Maiden
Type O Negative
In Flames
Emeror
Destroyer 666
Burzum
Nirvana(kind of out of place lol)

Any suggestions?:headbang:

I'd say you have a moderately varied taste in metal, but I'd suggest looking into some progressive metal; not because it'd fit with your list but because everyone should. Try Dream Theater for progressive heavy metal or Opeth for progressive death metal.

Also, Strapping Young Lad.

Dream Theater are fine for getting into prog, but I find they get very bland very quickly.

I made a huge list of great prog bands somewhere, I'll try and find it.

Found it:
Spiral Architect (Tech-Prog)
Behold...The Arctopus (Tech-Prog/Fusion)
Canvas Solaris (Tech-Prog)
Cynic (Tech-Death/Prog/Fusion?)
Pagan's Mind (Power/Prog)
Symphony X (Power/Prog (I assume you've heard of them though))
To-Mera (Prog with female vocals)
Aghora (Prog/Fusion with female vocals)
Threshold (Prog)
Spastic Ink (Tech-Prog)
Shadow Gallery (Prog)
Andromeda (Prog and my favourite band)
Scale the Summit (Prog)
Outworld (Prog with speed/heavy metal influence)
Continuo Renacer (Tech-prog)
Athiest(Deathrash/Fusion/Prog)
Psychotic Waltz (Prog)
Sieges Even (Prog)
Vanden Plas (Prog/Power)
Electrocution 250 (Tech/Prog/Speed/...Cartoon Music?)
Electro Quarterstaff (Tech-prog)
late Death (Prog/Death)
Lykathea Aflame (Prog/Death)
Zero Hour (Prog)
Communic (Prog/Power)
Circus Maximus (Prog)

Best there in my opinion are Spiral Architect, Spastic Ink, Behold...The Arctopus, Andromeda and Blotted Science

Great list, I love most of those bands. Zero Hour is my favorite.

Add Pain of Salvation and that's a pretty good list. Not much of a PoS fan myself, but I respect them.
I'm a huge fan of prog, but lets face it, many of the bands on that list, while being good bands, are generally clones of Dream Theater to a certain extent...

And say what you will, but Tool belongs on that list. People hate them because many of their fans are emo faggots, but they really are one of the most talented bands out there.

Tool's on my list of bands-I-should-like-but-just-don't-for-some-reason-but-respect-for-what-they-are.
