What's better?

Elecrtric guitars all sound the same.
Usually when you dont know shit about guitars you dont post in threads about guitars, and its obvious you dont know too much.

Get the Les Paul if you dont mind sounding like every other fuckin band out there, why not just blow it through a marshall amp, because mediocracy is in these days. I have a freind that uses Marshel/Les Paul Combo, and although ti doesnt sound bad, it sounds boring, nothing inovative at all.

HOWEVER....It is personnal taste yes, and just play them both and whatever fits the sound of what you are playing is what you get.

I'd go RR3 for most of the reasons mentioned, also I just don't dig the les paul shape. And for some reason I hate les pauls in metal bands.

i really dig the les paul shape myself, always have, i think they are great guitars, if you don't go cheap. the epiphone les pauls just cannot compare to the real deal, or a lot of the knock offs.

I don't know anything about the Jackson but I can tell you this about epiphones: They very greatly guitar to guitar. If you get a chance to play the one you get before you buy it, pick out of a few cause you might get a really great one but you might get crap. Good luck!

I don't like les pauls either. I can't get used to that scale lenght, the neck is too fat, and the shape is ugly imo. I like guitars with trems too so...I think the les paul doesn't deliver it to me :D
I'd get an ibanez or something. I really hate the bolt on joint on jacksons, they might as well attach a hedgehog to it to make it a little more uncomfortable

i agree with you on jackson's neck joint, it sucks. the ibanez all access neck joint imo is the best for a bolt on design, and their all access neck through neck joint is insanely comfortable. jackson needs to get out of the 60s with their neck joint design...

i originally asked the question because i own an Epiphone Les Paul (Ebony finish), but there is a dead spot in the Tone pot, and I am trying to decide whether I should pay $80 to fix it, or get an RR3. Which will play better/last longer etc.?
