we're from all over the world so I thought it might be interesting to hear how living goes on the other side. Could be anything special (politics, culture, nature). Sometimes I hear something from far away in the media and it reminds me of my fellow poster from here. This is the thread for it.

We've been through some shit here in Australia but New Zealand has just gone through a devastating earthquake and Australians have served alongside Kiwis in times of war,I have friends from there but I know MalignParadigm from here is a kiwi,so my thoughts are with them.

Yeah, I've heard a lot about the earthquake because one of my best friends live there (and thank god she lives away from where the earthquake happened...) and its just absolute hell it seems.

Its just terrible.

Makes this snow we've been getting here get put in perspective of being absolutely nothing.

Will be ASAP be donating for the Red Cross efforts to help the victims of that.

Yeah indeed. Insane considering Christchurch was still recovering from the last huge one in September. I have several kiwi friends, luckily none of them or their families have been hurt.

I want to go to Japan, but I'd probably get frustrated at how long it would take to do/see all the weird stuff it has to offer.

Nothing much is happening here in Maryland. Some dude killed a whole family, but murder is common living between Baltimore and DC. So it's nothing much, really. The most interesting thing that happened here in a while is some med student killed an unarmed burglar in his home with a samurai sword.
