Where do you go at night?

No, don't move me to the 'Chat' forum yet Mark - what I mean is, what kind of clubs are there for you people around the UK into the metal scene? Personally, I go to one in Wolverhampton each Wednesday (Slacker's, The Terrace Bar, at the Molyneux), I co-DJ one with two friends every Thursday (Blasphemy, Walkabout Inn, Queen Street, Wolverhampton - we're back every week from February 7th), there's a place in Bilston every Friday (Club ROAR, by the bus station, Bilston), and there's occasionally Corrosion in Wolverhampton of a Saturday (Corrosion, Civic Hall, The Wulfrun, Wolverhampton). So in the West Midlands, we're catered for fairly well.
How about everyone else?

North Staffs here! Stoke On Trent Sadly doesnt have any rock clubs  Though The Rigger In Newcastle - Under - Lyme does have metal bands occasionally. *cue muttering here*

during the week I'm in London where there's loads to choose from but they're usually on shit nights of the week like Wednesday.

My weekend home in Warrington has no rock clubs at all - nearest are in Manchester, or sometimes the Crewe Limelight has something decent on.

there isnt really much in my area

in bedford i have esquires that has occasionally good bands playing, and im cambridge is the boat race that has some cool bands occasionaly as well....

no proper rock clubs thou :(

very upsetting indeed :(

Well, get your violins out people, coz i live in an area with NO rock nights AT ALL anymore :_( Buckley, near Chester was the closest, but then it was changed to a trendy nightclub - AAAAARRGGGHHH!!!!! Gotta go to Liverpool for my Heavy Metal fix.

Lemmesee, in Bristol there's the Bierkeller which has a rock night and bands on every Wednesday (although the club night is pretty poor), there's another rock club at Asylum/Inferno on Saturdays (which is better than the Bierkeller night). There are a couple of Thursday night clubs which I haven't been to so can't comment on.

There's also the Full Moon & Eclipse which are a pair of metal friendly pubs next to eachother which are worth a visit. The Moon only tends to be open for gigs now though.

That's about it for me...

At the mo, the clubs i go to are in London: Full Tilt - Electric Ballroom, Camden. Iv tried Metro on a Saturday nite and it was full of kids, pushing each other over on the dance floor and generally pissing people off. Trying to visit Club Noir (Gossips) and the Kerrang! club on a Wed nite, but cos my friends are old fogies before their time and are bogged down with child luggage, i am doomed to wonder the nite alone being accosted by balded headed freaks and easy fingered weirdo's.
That pisses me off!!!! When all you want to do is just go out and experience a new place, and you have to be constantly on your guard (depending where you are) so not to be pestered. I JUST WANNA DANCE!!!

sneaking out with my friends and taking a huge bong hit.....then definatly getting some thing to eat.....mmmm twinkies....;)

Do you dudes not know about this site then?

http://www.rabble.co.uk/

course, with clubs starting up, closing down, moving venue etc, its a bit difficult to stay up to date and so there are parts of the site which are out of date, but its not a bad place to start.

In London there is also a rock nite on Thurs (it was open last night) at the Arts Club, in Soho - just up from Ronnie Scots and more or less across the street from Garlic and Shots (a restraunt where they play Metal (mainly old stuff) all the time).

Also in London, if you are into 80's stuff try http://www.crazynites.co.uk/ - run by Sleazy H and Zed - two of Totalrock's DJs - http://www.totalrock.com/

London might be mainly dead, but right now at least there are a small number of brave individuals who are trying to change things.

if any of you lot ever find yourself in hell... sorry, i meant manchester, theres a few clubs and pubs you can go to.

most just play mainstream rock/metal, but there are so many clubs and smaller venues that with a bit of patience im sure anyone and everyone can find what theyre after.

heres a few clubs/venues i go to:
jillys/rockworld (the only metal club all the time )
the salisbury (rock/metal juke box.. good atmosphere)
the overdraught (mondays only, Andy the dj will play anything if he has it, if not, just bring it... )
satans hollow (... mmmm.. good name, check the night tho. still a good night out tho if only for the GWAR style decor!)
the roadhouse excellent venue.. many up and coming bands play here. check in advance for gigs
and finally...
the wichwood. ashton under lyne. (cheap plug for my local)
possibly the best rock pub in the world, excellent jukebox, ever changing guest beers, venue in back for live bands and acts.
always a good atmosphere and theyve won more awards for gigs, beer cellar and staff than anywhere else i know of :)

its not all about those gallaghers you know!

Try the Ruskin Arms in East Ham its free and the drinks are normal prices so you're not gonna lose out on much money.
They play all sorts of rock and metal not just trendy metal like the Metro. Its the only place i can know of in London that'll play proper metal (as long as they have it mind you they sometimes play it if you bring it as well). Oh and its a nice atmosphere caus nobodies trying to show-off. Youmust of heard of it caus Maiden started out playing there.
Email me if you got any q's

Ruskin Arms
High Street, East Ham

I'm also Manchester based.
I would recommend anyone visiting Manchester gives Jilly's a wide berth as it has become a nu-metal abomination, full of baggy panted children, who wouldn't know metal if it held a blow torch in their ugly little faces.
Many people I've spoken to in Manchester haven't even heard of At the Gates! Shocking poverty of knowledge.
Thanks for the Witchwood tip Leethedemon. What's the transport like from the centre of town?

Speaking from a wholy biased perspective, the best metal club is of course the Greenhouse rehearsal rooms, Stockport whenever Electrickery are practising!
Bring your own beer.
