It has crossed my mind too, but I have been spending time on the sludge forums lately... Lots of cool stuff on there for a site known more for bashing glam bands...

This forum has bored the living shit out of me lately. The dumb ass treads by Soundmaster simply drive me away. Saying moronic shit like "Dream Theater never composed a songs with any emotion in it" [I am paraphrasing here] show that the IQ level has dropped below zero here.
The constant slagging of glam band by Marine and others have ruined this board for me. And I do not even like glam!
You may all be very happy discussing "banging Angela from Arch Enemy" but I demand a little more from a community were I would be participating.
In short; recently this board has been invaded by idiots. And I am reminded of a wise saying:
"Never debate an idiot, after a while the onlookers will not the able to see the difference between you and the idiot"
I wish all the best to my old friends and will PM you in time. I'll keep in touch with you, I promise.

The posts have turned a bit uninspiring lately. Certainly not all of them, but many have. I know I am at fault as well. I haven't been making many new posts at all lately, so I can't complain. In all reality, it is probably little more than a "slump" and someone will get inspired before too long and light the place back up.

Just can't think of any good threads to start, so I guess I just post any shit that comes to mind, which is both bogus and sad cause you're my only metal connections and I normally feel that I have to say something...
someone takes this board too serious... cant put down a band or genre without getting bent out of shape... as for everything else that is posted .. as long as their is no flame wars i dont see what the big deal is about discussing them... if you dont like what the thread is about its easy to just ignore it and not post in it... and not go down on everyone who is enjoying the chat... i'm not starting a flame but sometimes people just need to chill out ...

I understand Hawk frustration as I found the forum dead too, but I support UM point of view. No one forces us to:
a) read
b) post
So we can perfeclty have a nice time here ignoring what we don't like and posting in what we do like.
As for useless posters I have my ignore list mode ON. I encourage everyone to put people you dislike the post in there. In the end you may find fewer posts but higher quality in the threads.
And since you don't see the post the "banned" can rant and insult and puke and you'll never know
I don't see anything bad with a silly thread like the banging one, but it pisses me more the one about sports. But to each its own so I don't complaint, I just ignore it.
As a corolary I guess stress is taking the best of us all lately, maybe it will be prudent to relax for a bit and come back with fresher ideas.
