Where's the football talk???

It's a shame there's no way for a Miami - Tennessee final. I'd love to see two quarterbacks that have been tossed aside so many times duke it out for the trophy even if that meant the Giants weren't in it.

Miami vs. Tampa Bay... Jeff Garcia certainly belongs in that club. :)

Merry Christmas from the Green Bay Packers !!!

Yeah, talk about a gift. The Bears had no business winning that game. Then again, over the past month Green Bay has shown a propensity for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Again still, I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth and am now hoping for a Bears win/Vikings loss this weekend, although I'm not exactly holding my breath for either to happen.

Well, looks like my cheering didn't sway things... your Bears are still in it! But good grief, they need a quarterback, and i'm sick of hearing about how bad they need a quarterback!! :goggly:

We sat with some older white folks who didn't say a word to us on one side, and a couple of black guys on the other who were high-fiving us the whole time, so yes and no. :)

(P.S. The Cubbies were always my mom's #2 team, so that means they're mine too... except when they're playing the Braves. :D)

We've needed a QB since 1985! Thanks for not cheering enough, glad the Bears got the win, whether they deserved it or not. Anytime we can beat Green Bay it's a good thing, even if we were 0-15....Oh wait that's the Lions

The leather pants scared the old folks. Glad he got to see a little fandom.
If you really want a survival test, wear a Bears hat up in Northern WI during deer hunting season! :zombie:

The Bears had that problem early in the year, and then they figured out how to win close games again. My Pack just can't figure it out right now ... they seem to have things in order, and then BAM .. the wheels fall off.

Seven of their ten losses have come by a combined total of 21 points. They won all the close ones last year .. lost them all this year.

Next year looks bright though .. they'll get a 3rd place schedule, and Rodgers will have another year under his belt. They probably will go out and get a real defensive coordinator, and special teams coach as well. Being one more year removed from the Favre thing will help this club a lot as well. This was a Murphy's Law year for the Packers.

I have my doubts about Grant. He didn't make many people miss this year, and wasn't able to make anything out of nothing like the really good backs do. He was a disappointment.

He held out for a new deal, and then get hurt (hammy) early on. The jury is still out on him. Personally I don't think he is the real deal, and I would draft another back if I was the Packers.

Any happy football talk died for me when The Eagles once again decided that passing 48 times and running 16 times was a good ratio in a one touchdown game on which your playoff life depended. Not that they deserve to make the playoffs this year, but for a time, we fans could happily delude ourselves that they were on a crucial late run that would transfer to the playoffs, a la the 2007 Giants. Not to be. At least I can watch the playoffs without a rooting interest.

Did I really say that? WOW! The Eagles crush the Cowgirls, and now have a winnable game against the Vikings. Suddenly, the playoffs have relevance!

Good luck to your team ... I LOVE the Vikings !!

I fixed it for you Britt. :heh:

Da Bears sucked a bucket of ass again today, showing that they in no way deserved a playoff spot. If both Lovi & Wrex are on the team next year, I'm turning in my fan card... One can leave and I'll give them another chance, but both would be ideal...They can get a condo in FL together or something....:erk:

At least the Lions lost.....:zombie:

Yeah, wow, that was something... all the right cards fell into place! I'm glad the Cowboys aren't going the way they've been playing. Then again, I think I'd rather Atlanta wind up playing Dallas than Philly! Besides, they have been our playoff nemesis the past couple of times we've gone.

Too bad the Saints couldn't hold on to their comeback against the Panthers. I think I almost had a heart attack between that and Atlanta trying to throw the Lams a bone. :P

I don't think Atlanta can take it all the way... then again, we beat Carolina pretty bad last time we played them, the Giants and especially the Cardinals are on a downward trend it seems, we pulled it out against the Vikes, and well, Philly squeaked in... so there's a chance. I think any of the NFC teams has a chance to win the conference. It all depends on which team shows up--most of these are Jekyll & Hyde this year IMO. :erk:

Lions Fan = A dedication that is beyond obsessive.

Tuff Job.

I'm not just a Lions fan, I'm also a Browns fan. It was difficult watching the last couple Browns games, knowing that our first, second, and third-string quarterbacks were all out with injuries. I think the Lions had more of a shot to win during the last few weeks than the Browns did.

If somehow the Eagles wind up playing in Atlanta for the conference, my wife and I may just be coming down for a visit!
