A few of us have gotten together after ProgPower the past couple of years to take in an afternoon of football at a local sports bar. If anyone is interested in joining us now that the NFL schedule is out, please let me know. I'm going to find a new place, closer to the venue and hotels, so it would help if I had a rough idea of how many folks might be interested. Post here or e-mail me at blackiamond at mindspring dot com.

Yeah, I know we have 5 months left, but I'm excited about football season already... the Falcons have the first pre-season game vs. the Colts, the regular season opens on MNF in an NFC championship game re-match, Turkey day at Detroit and then we have 2 *more* MNF games to boot! Crikey, all the hype's making me nervous already, too! :)

The Bucs are playing the Bills at home that Sun. I don't have to worry about rushing home to make the 1:00 game because after raising ticket prices(again) following a 5-11 season, I told them to keep their fucking tickets. :bah:

I'm looking forward to the NFL draft...hoping that Mike Williams falls to the #5 pick. If my Bucs miss the playoffs, for the third straight year, I'll be leading the "Fire Gruden" chorus. How do you ruin a Super Bowl winner that quickly... :erk:

anything that involves looking at a guys butt. ...count me in!!!! flight leaves at either 5pm or 7pm to go home. I for sure wasn't going to book an a.m. flight!!! :yuk:

The Steelers (Bryant's favorite team) will be playing the Texans at 1 p.m... Texans QB David Carr is cute as hell and Steelers safety Troy Polamalu is my favorite player as far as cute goes... he has hair that cascades down his back and a smile to melt your... well, okay, that's enough outta me! I'll count on you joining us, and remind me to point those two out to you. :)

Count me in! I haven't booked a flight yet but I usually end up staying until Monday, so this would work out great. Might have to crash somewhere other than the hotel (but I don't think Kim would mind a houseguest again, right?).

Can't wait to see all my OPP girls again! Look out Atlanta! :hotjump:

Gotta rush home to see the Eagles beat up on the 49ers. That's a 1:00 game, meaning I get about 3 hours of sleep that night . . . .

Steve in Philly

funny you should say that about david carr. A good friend of mine had a convention this afternoon that Carr spoke at. My birthday was sunday so he went to david carr and had him do a video on his phone of him saying "HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNIE" then he flashed this REALLY HOT smile! and he got me an autographed jersey......GOD I LOVE HIM!!! (oh, and GO TEXANS!)

i do that every year too, except mine is on saturday. last year it felt like bad luck watching auburn get smacked by tech in my hotel room, so last year i went to a sports bar. much better luck :) i always regret spending all my time on saturday in front of the tv before leaving for the venue, but missing a weekend of college football isn't happening. it's as bad as me missing a braves game

edit:
i meant at IV, not last year. duh :\

I hope you don't mind Vick being served up to the Lions on thanksgiving like a oversized turkey. Don't let it mess up your meal!!o_O
My 3 teams(lived in Michigan most of life, spent tons of time in Cleveland due to all my relatives there, and lived in Arizona since '95) are all slowly on the rebound so I am on a wait and see program.

DOOD.

After ProgPower III, we went to see the Falcons host the Saints. Actually my first live NFL game.I've never... EVER.... seen a sports rivalry like that! The fans were brutal to each other, yet not a single incident occured! Even despite the "Official Atlanta Falcons Jizz Rags" with the Saints logo on a red towel! What a great game!

The weekend of PP6, where are the Falcons playing?

Sounds like an okay time. I may stay till Monday this year just for the heck of it and it would be even better if we were watching the Texans play!

Sweet... we always seem to have fun, even though we're all usually pretty bleary-eyed and often nursing hangovers... the 'usual' crowd all has different favorites, so it's a *must* to find someplace that will have several different games on. I can guarantee you the Steelers, Green Bay and the Falcons, and we'll probably have to have the Giants and Denver as well. It's a good way to extend the weekend and get to relax a little IMO.

The Falcons are playing @ Seattle that day, for whoever asked.

And, yes, Bear, for you of course I have floor space. ;)

Who's Vick? We have a QB named Ron Mexico. ;)

Off the top of my head, I would suggest looking into Jocks 'n Jills at CNN Center. It's nearby, has plenty of TVs (sure to be tuned to a variety of games) and can hold the crowd it looks like you'll be having. Hell, give 'em a call and ask about the private room they have. With enough people, it'd probably be a cheap rental for a few hours. Oh, and did I mention that's it's next door to a Marta station, so the out-of-towners can catch a train to meet their flight? :)

Yeah, Deana and I hung out there with my boss and his friends before the ATL/STL playoff game... Upstairs is cool, but they're a bit pricey IMO, and parking down there often sucks. Danny told me about some place in midtown... I'm feeling a recon mission coming on. :D
