Where's the good new stuff ???

I also second Portrait. It's pretty decent King Diamond worship.

Some of you will love HEATHENDOM. A very cool mixture of power metal & doom. Sorta like if Tyrant from Jag Panzer sung with Candlemass. Check it our for yourself:

Lastly you should check out my band HELLHUNTER!
Blackened NWOBHM inspired thrash that you'll either love or hate!

I saw Portrait live twice at KIT and they were very poor on stage. They must sound better on CD as they seem to have quit some fans....

Been listening to the new Tomorrow's Eve alot this week, hell of a good new album !! Sounds a little bit like Evergrey , but the album surely is alot stronger than Evergrey's last effort...

Please check out Evil Masquerade from Denmark. The have just released their fourth album which is fantastic and a definate MUST for any serious metal fan.
You'll hear influences from the likes of Black Sabbath/Dio, in their music, mixed with a neo-classical/powerprog style. A very interesting band!

There's also a competition running for anyone who has heard the latest album and would like to do a review. Full details here - http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=170795705&blogID=470943180

Wyvern - hello!! Well either we both have good taste in music sites or one of us is stalking the other! hahaha

Well you are busy around here aren't you, judging by that post count - no wonder we don't see you around the Evil forum that much! hahaha

See you around somewhere no doubt! :headbang:

Doden's turned me onto the Portrait band the other day, as a die hard King Diamond fan I must say I dig them a lot (new S/T one that is out). It reminded me of old King Diamond meets the old music of Riot. Very cool stuff, I ordered from the USA label for $10 flat.

I also just happened to listen to the Evil Masquerade tunes today, sounds promising!

Came across this band that will play on PP Europe; "Prospect"... Samples on Myspace sound promising (prog/power-metal with a real good vocalist)

A veteran band but this is the first album of theirs I've heard. Very cool, melodic stuff. Kinda like a less heavy Threshold although obviously these guys have been around long before Threshold. But just to give an idea what it sounds like.

The album comes out next week, I've had a "preview version" for some time now and was impressed enough to place an order for the CD+DVD limited edition.

While not really metal (although it has it's moments!) The new Morglbl cd absolutely SLAYS! Saw them Thursday night, and they kicked HUGE buckets of @ss! I have not seen anything so amzing since Freak Kitchen in 2006.
Jazz For The Deaf comes out in the US around June 5th or 6th...

And speaking of Freak Kitchen, the mixing of the new cd Land of The Freaks is complete, and a certain Swedish guitar player is VERRRY pleased with the results (which is a first for him!)....Can't wait for this!

Gert & Henri will back me up on the Morglbl!

just got the new Redemption, sounds superb at first listen. And downloaded the new Diablo Swing Orchestra album for a listen. That's quit an interesting album, think this will grow after a few listens. A bit like an over the top (early) Mechanical Poet album, with lots of operatic vocals, violins and stuff but still very heavy guitar riffs...Weird stuff :loco:

The new Redemption is alright, I mean the band is doing the same sounds sice their second album. I like this one but is not astounding.

I skipped DSO at PPX. then out of curiosity listened to one song on a promo we got at the festival. I ran exit stage left after 30 seconds, terrible IMO without any chance to grow.

On the other hand mloanna (Marvina) gave me as a gift the debut Kruk album. Is a Polish band that plays pure old school hard rock ala Deep Purple, complete grower and great stuff.

After a few listens (quit a few :)) only 2 or 3 songs of DSO remain interesting. Indeed the new Redemption is in the same line, but I think its a tatty better !!!
As for now I guess I'm listening the most to the new Subsignal and Guilt Machine. Both not very heavy albums, but awesome melodic stuff !!
