I'm just waiting for mine to happen really, I hope they won't be serious and that noone else is in the car with me. This is good off topic. I had fun potatoes today.

I hear you, sometimes they are simply unavoidable, and sometimes they're because you're a jerk (which I have plenty of experience with). I've had both kinds. I've been in 2 major accidents though, once as a passenger when I was a child, and once as the driver. That one sucked, fucked my girlfriend (at the time) up pretty badly, though the accident was in no way my fault.

I've been ploughing ditches as a passenger a few times of course, especially with hotshot stupid young males in wintertime northen sweden (that would be me really except...) with back wheel drive (this isn't me :erk: ), but that's all in good fun and not very dangerous most of the time.

I was wondering about this...are many cars in Europe, Scandinavia mostly, all wheel drive/4-wheel drive? As I'm sure you're aware, the SUV is king in the U.S., because we know moms & rednecks need to drive around in an over-sized 7-passenger vehicle to tote their 1 kid around.

But yeah, are lots of cars AWD in Sweden?

Not really, but I guess it's more and more... BWD is pretty much outdated since Volvo started with front wheel drive, and SAAB and Volvo together probably make up for more than half the cars here for good reason (no numbers or anything, just a hunch). We rely more on good S&M tires I guess.

Interesting.

I will say that in the U.S., most vehicles that are not SUVs or specifically AWD are indeed front-wheel drive, except for BMWs (which everyone knows are RWD) and lots of American cars, which all suck anyway.

I have a front-wheel drive Saab, and I have to say, it fucking SUCKS in the snow.

Oh no shit. That sounds like a good law. And no, I don't have anything like that. I guess some people will switch over to "winter" tires, but it's quite expensive to have more than 1 set of tires, and a pain in the ass to have to change them. Most tire manufacturers here just go for "all-weather" tires, which means they are pretty much mediocre in all conditions and excel at none. Bah.

digital music > footbalm driving > accidents > tires

Gotta love RC forum thread progression.
