I think it would be sensible to work your way backwards through their material... Seeing as their last 2 albums are their most accesible.. I share the opinion of Tubbs.. Every album of their bar Frost is awesome.. Frost is just, not quite so good..

As long as you buy something by Enslaved it doesn't matter which album it is. Frost is awesome aswell, wtf?

I'm not sure why it should make a difference. Good music is good music, regardless of whatever language the songs are in. If language barriers deterred people from listening to music then opera would have no new patrons.

Besides, if someone's screaming their nuts off then who can tell what language it's in?

I started with Mardraum, unlike everyone else apparently. It was the only album of theirs I could get into for a long time, so I guess that's what I recommend. Storre Enn Tid is still an amazingly epic track.

well i dunno, whatever. it doesn't really matter. you can't go wrong.

I never liked the earlier albums back when I was getting into this stuff (97), years later I started with Below the Lights, then Isa, then worked backwards.

It's all great, but it's all different - I'd even say Vikingligr Veldi is as different from Blodhelm as that album is from the newer stuff like Ruun and Isa.
