i do not doubt the quality of caparison guitars, but i think that a lot of their hype is due to their 27 fret horus model. I would love to have one of those, but im not really partial to the 24 3/4 scale...

I really like the look of the LTD F-400 FM. If it had a locking trem system then I would think about buying one.

The only things that keep the F-400 from being my dream guitar is the lack of a Floyd Rose trem. bridge and a non-existence of a gun metal blue finish option.

I actually have an F-400 FM, and since I don't care about the Floyd Rose bridge and I love the see-through black finish, it IS my dream guitar. I only paid $700 for it, and I feel like I ripped off the store because it plays so much better than any $1000 guitar I've ever played. Everything about it is amazing. *runs into room and gives guitar a big hug* [/love note for guitar]

But I'd say to definitely try out a bunch of ESP guitars. The best way to discover which guitar you like best is to just go to a store and try out a shitload of them. Good luck!
