I never heard all of Cause of Death... I haven't heard Slowly We Rot in ages. I do have that greatest hits album that has a lot of those songs on it though. Not a big fan of that greatest hits album.

Cause of Death. It has James Murphy on it. His solos are some of the best. The End Complete is an older era of Obituary. World Demise is when they changed their sound somewhat, and pissed us off. It wasn't regarded too well down here in Tampa when it came out. Having seen them quite a bit back (8-10 times) in the early 90's, I'd say that the tour supporting The End Complete was Obituary at their peak.

I'm going to basically "audition" for a band this week where the main songwriter used to be great friends with James Murphy. He also used to play guitar in Monstrosity as a touring member. Wish me luck with that. I barely play guitar at all anymore, but I've already been told by numerous people I shouldn't have any problems with this gig.

Dude! I probably know you, or at least seen you at many shows! I hang with Murphy, when he's here. And Ben Meyer, (from Nasty Savage, Gardy Loo, Acheron, Death) Who's the guy you speak of? Corpsegrinder used to be in Monstrosity (wow, I'm getting old!)before CC. What's the band called, and who/what do they sound like? And who do you sound like, or are influenced by? Best of Luck, man! Drop me some info on this new band.

The dude's name is Kyle, but I don't know his last name. He's got a progect which is more traditional metal/power metal than anything & I think it's pretty remenescent of Judas Priest. I think the stuff is alright myself & I could see myself playing it in the band. My writing style is completely different & more technical than most of this stuff is though. Whenever I get over this bronchitis I'm going to go over to work on some of the dude's songs with him. Also, He was just a touring guitarist with Monstrosity & I don't know where he knows Murphy from.

This MySpace link shoud be it, but I'm not 100% sure because I can't open it at work because of the block. The band is Steel Vengeance.

Absolutely not, considering I agree :) but if you had said "Haven't heard anything by 'em but worst band ever" yeah I might get angry (and have a right to be).

pretty average, tbh. he could use your help. there's potential here, though.

I love Cause of Death but I'm not so into Slowly we Rot, but I'll vote early era anyway.

Nah John Tardy is far too hippie nice guy-ish for that. Trevor Peres on the other hand...

Very true! He's a really quiet guy when he's just hanging out.
