I honestly haven't heard much. If any. I do know that i'm not a big fan of prog other than some earlier Kamelot (not terribly impressed with anything since Karma, though Karma won about 30 internets), symphony x, and a very select few other bands. But i don't hate, don't hate...

That was probably worst music I've heard since.. Umm.. My band's first demo? Sure, they might be outstanding musicans but that doesn't give those guys the excuse to play terrible music, in fact quite the opposite

Your bands first demo must be pretty good , I don't think this band is thinking melody, just musicianship.

My band's first demo was terrible

Musicianship doesn't only come from technical solos and weird two-handed tapping stuff at 210 bpm. I personally think that it's all about the melody and emotion but you might want to spice it up a bit with a technical show-off.

But sure, those guys are pretty awesome when it comes to technical talent.
