Finally! :OMG: :Smokin:

Symphony X and Dream Theater together on tour! :notworthy

I only hope they come just a little closer to Germany

If now Symphony would not "only" be supporting, that'd be perfect - but I guess this is as close as it gets!

Just marvellous :goggly:

Yeah, I'm pretty disappointed because Symphony X is "only" the support-act, but other than that I'm looking forward to see Symphony X.

Off-topic: Where are you from Neva Kee? Near to Muenster(NRW)?

Yeah!!! They are coming to Helsinki, Finland. I can't miss this chance to see both symphony X and Dream Theater in the same gig. I agree it's a shame Symphony X is the support-act, but DT is almost as great. It will be awesome to see them play.

Any ideas how many minutes Symphony X will get?

What?! that's great...just found some info about it.

Dream Theater hits Houston August 3rd
Symphony X hits Houston August 4th

I think I'm rather lucky...

Holy shit! that woke me up !!!:OMG:
But dam why can't it happen in USA I know im not the only one but DAM!!!!

That was a quick turn of OMFG to Dam i jelious

I think im the only one who dont agree with this.

SymphonyX is a high caliber band, they dont deserve to work as a support guys.

I throughfully agree. But I don't really want to whine, cause it's damn great to see Symphony X and DT in the same gig live. I wished it was Symphony X as the main act, but I'm happy to see DT too.

I agree with you, Luis. However, it's all based on how much money the bands bring in. Dream Theater has sold far more albums than Symphony X, and as such, are the headliners. It's just like Gigantour 2005... we all knew Symphony X should have been on the main stage, but the other bands had done better with record sales. It's that simple, and it's unfortunate.

By the way, at DoomsdayZach!

If by higher calibur you mean better players, i disagree. Better writers for their individual instruments, I agree 100%.

I don't think Luis was making an anti-Dream Theater statement; he probably just meant that Symphony X shouldn't open for any band.

Let's try to not make this into a versus thread. Hell, if I lived in Europe, I'd be out drinking already, celebrating this awesome news. It's not often that two great bands get to tour together.

I also think that Dream Theater should never have an opener, so it all really kinda works out...

Except that a band that should never be an opener is STILL opening for a band who should never have an opener.
