That equation rules.

I owned one, but it was a gift. on cassette.
I still marvel at the fact that the one song the band will be most remembered for is one that they didn't even write- nothing else on the album sounded like that song. And then on a later album, didn't they try to recapture the feel generated by that hit song they didn't write- almost to the point of plagiarism?

Label: "We need another one like that one song you guys did..."
GW: "What?"
Label: "You know, the one with the video we spent 8 Million dollars on... with the girls that made you sign the waivers not to touch them?"
GW: "What?"

yea, so im having that same problem greg and others are having with people being all "isnt that the music youre into?", "didnt you like that band?", "dont you go to 'those kinds of shows'?"

ok, so i feel really badly about what happened, and its really really tragic and horrifying, and i would be so scared in that situation, and it will probably cross my mind sometime in a tight club, but NO, thats not my metal and i wouldnt be caught dead at a great white show. oh, poor choice of words. fuck me.

GREAT WHITE Guitarist's Remains Identified - Feb. 23, 2003

GREAT WHITE guitarist Ty Longley has been officially identified as one of the 96 people that lost their lives last Thursday night when The Station club in West Warwick, Rhode Island burned down at the beginning of the group's performance at the venue.

"We have learned that Ty Longley has been identified as one of the people that passed away in West Warwick," reads a message on the official web site of GREAT WHITE singer, Jack Russell (www.planetjr.com).

Upon his return to Los Angeles next month, the 31-year-old guitarist was planning to move in with his 29-year-old pregnant girlfriend, Heidi, who now lives in Chicago, his friends told L.A. Daily News.

Longley grew up near the Ohio/Pennsylvania border, and was inspired to pick up the electric guitar after hearing Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn and LED ZEPPELIN. In Los Angeles, he relished warm-weather activities like body-boarding and biking, but remained a loyal Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Although the band were touring on their old hits, for Longley it was a step up. He recently bought a BMW and was recording a solo album on his own.

Ty's girlfriend Heidi is scheduled to be making an appearance on NBC's "Dateline" tonight, Sunday, Feb. 23 at 7:00 p.m. EST. Check your local listings to verify time and channel.

GREAT WHITE To Continue Touring With Replacement Guitarist - Feb. 23, 2003

According to the New York Daily News, GREAT WHITE singer Jack Russell is wasting no time in scouting for a replacement for guitarist Ty Longley, who died after a pyrotechnics display got out of control in Rhode Island on Thursday. "I personally would like to express my heartfelt condolences to those families of the loved ones who perished, as well as Ty ... in the tragedy at the Station," Russell said in a web message. "We will continue our tour with a replacement guitarist sometime in the next few days." Russell and an unspecified bandmate were seen catching a flight yesterday out of town, Providence TV stations reported last night.
