"hmmm. I disagree. I can not stand B.C rich's. They are cheap guitars. No, I play metal. I can get a fucking thick tone with my LP going through a Laney VH100R. Have you ever played a Paul?
Odd to say that B.C Rich's sound better"
i have to respond to this, because you are wrong The BC Riches you are referring to are cheap imports. The NJ's are the 'top import' series, and they are actually pretty darn good, i would say a lot better than Ibanez( but that's my opinion).
These imports are in NO WAY comparable to the original USA handmade BC Riches like you may have seen Slayeror Slash(yes, bfore he used his Les Paul), use. They start from somewhere $2800 and are totally custom made. I happened to own one( a 1995 Eagle Archtop Supreme) and it is a work of art, NO Gibson can touch.
You xcan recognize the originals by the fact that there is NO 'BC Rich' on the headstock, only a big "R"
for your information: Gibsons nowadays all come from the conveyor belt, the original factory where the high-quality Gibsons used to be made, is now making the guitars under the name of Heritage.
Gibson still has the name of being the best, but any guitar 'expert' will agree that they do no longer make them as they used to.
apart from that, i noticed a recent trend in metal musicians starting to use Les Pauls, and i don't know why. They play like a tank, they only come in 22 frets, have difficult upper-fret access. Even Ibanez(which i hate) at least play easily and fast.
Just a bit of info, i have been studiying lutherie lately and looked at different companies. There are so many high-quality instruments out there, who don't get the attention, because Gibson and Fender have the name and reputation. Shame Gibson doesn't make instruments anymore that justify that reputation. And then i am not even mentioning their prices. Well, i am done now
