Who is your Album of 2007 ?

No perticular order............

MachineHead-The Blackening "getting back to their 'burn my eyes' attitude"

Nile- Ithyphallic 'because my Friend blasts like crazy on this one' :kickass:

Devine Heresy -Best thing Dinos' did since FF I think! And Tims INSANE!!!!:OMG:

Now I await Meshuggah :notworthy and Kataklysms' 08' offerings!

Behemoth -The Apostasy. -At the Left Hand Ov God easily one of my favorite songs ever.
Dev- Ziltoid- Because It's Devin Fuckin Townsend
Carnal Forge- Testify For My Victims- Tasty Songs, killer vokills
King Diamond- Gimme your Soul Please.- Because It's mother fuckin KING.

Ithyphallic might be on my list if it weren't for that razor ear splittng guitar sound.

I have to go with:

1. Machinehead -The Blackening
2. Dimmu Borgir - In Sorte Diabolis

and I might catch some shit for this, but ...

3. Helloween - Gambling with the Devil

Helloweenie for life! We're taking it back!

Divine Heresy - Bleed the fifth
it's almost better than demanufacture ... and I can tell you I'm a huge fan of Fear factory
Ok you can't top Replica or Self bias resitor, but this record kills!

Wow...the only 2 that put this album on the 2007 top list are Italian :D
And obviously they will not come to Italy in Tour :D

Katatonia - The Great Cold Distance (came out in '06, i know... but i didn't get my hands on it until earlier this year): simply amazing
Chimaira - Resurrection: one of Andy's very best i think
Rush - Snakes & Arrows: a "return to glory" album if i ever heard one.
Breaking Benjamin - Phobia: standard-setting mixes on this one from both Chris Lord-Alge and Ben Grosse
Within Temptation - The Heart Of Everything
Between The Bured & Me - Colors: not too fond of the mix... but the songs and performance are just killer.
Andy McKee - Art Of Motion: check this guy's youtube vids... then steal your little sister's lunch money and order the damned CD!
John Scofield - This Meets That
Tori Amos - American Doll Posse: she just gets more and more twisted.
Dream Theater - Systematic Chaos: sorry haters, great album... weird mix, killer music.
Porcupine Tree - Fear Of A Blank Planet
Behemoth - The Apostasy
Dimmu Borgir - In Sorte Diaboli
Megadeth - United Abominations

and several more... i could keep going... impossible to name only one.

Oh yeah.... Despised Icons' -The Ills of Modern Man-

This C.D. just SLAYS!!!!! Guitars are sic and Alex is just plain FUCKING NUTS!!!!!!! :kickass:
They finally let him really open up on the kit!!

Sheez... I went out and bought a 6505+ after hearing it. Now I gotta blend my Krank with it and get half as close as Andy did:lol::notworthy

Damn, i can't pick just one!

1. Gazpacho - Night (fantastic prog band: procupine tree+radiohead+floyd...check em ooot!)
2. Mors Principium Est - Liberation = Termination
3. Becoming the Archetype - The Physics of Fire
4. Between the Buried and Me - Colors
5. Devil Sold His Soul - A Fragile Hope
6. Oceansize - Frames

My playlist this year has been dominated by 'Insomnium - Above the Weeping World' however, although it was a late 2006 release...can't think of a better melodic death band for me.

Soilwork - Sworn to a Great Divide
Porcupine Tree - Fear of a Blank Planet
Arch Enemy - Rise of the Tyrant
Between the Buried and Me - Colors

Exodus - The Atrocity Exhibition Exhibit A - Can't believe noone has mentioned this yet, album of the year for me. Gary is a fucking monster on this album.
Daath - The Hinderers - Awesome band, fucking brutal, some really nice doublebass work.
Dimmu Borgir - In Sorte Diaboli - Great atmosphere, and awesome orchestral work, great mix by Fredrik.
Strapping Young Lad - City (Remaster) - A remaster of one of the heaviest albums of all time, Devin is amazing.
Chimaira - Resurrection - A great album to sing along with to get the agression out, awesome overall mix.

Exodus - The Atrocity Exhibition Exhibit A - Can't believe noone has mentioned this yet, album of the year for me. Gary is a fucking monster on this album.
it could have been on my list... i love the couple tracks i have... but i still haven't picked this one up, so i left it off.

Damn, I can't believe I only picked up one CD released in 2007. The rest were earlier. I think I better jump on the bandwagon (hah, pun intended). Therefore, I must make my decisions on only having listened to the albums.

Soilwork - Sworn (own it, rules, one of their best)
Mnemic - Passenger (blew my mind, can't believe I haven't bought it, maybe I will today)
Rush - Snakes (best Canadian's ever)
Devin Townsend - Ziltoid (wierd as ever)
Daath - The Hinderers (power, aggression, and blatantly perfect production)

1. The Ocean - Precambrian
2. The Black Dahlia Murder - Nocturnal
3. Calabrese - The Traveling Vampire Show
4. Fear My Thoughts-Vulcanus
5. The End - Elementary

Precambrian by the Ocean is SO FUCKING GOOD, these guys are genius..

i've been looking for this one.... looks like i'm going to have to order it.

also have a late addition to my list:

Ohm - Amino Acid Flashback: Chris Poland's Fusion Trio... awesome.

So I got bored, and interested, and needed to prioritize which CDs to buy. So I calculated the results thus far. And so far, Devy is killing them all. So the top 10 (including ties):

#1 Devin Townsend - Ziltoid (7 votes)
#2 Soilwok - STAGD (5)
#3 Behemoth, Carnal Forge, Chimaira, Dimmu Borgir, Porcupine Tree, Sybreed (4)
#8 Between the Buried and Me, Daath, Divine Heresy, Mnemic (3)

for me

best music: between the buried and me, porcupine tree

best sounding: chimaira, as i lay dying

out of genre: mark ronson

big dissapointment/worst mix: arch enemy

worst highly anticipated album that really sucks from the band i love the most: systematic chaos
