I mixed it with headphones because its like 1am now, no sample replacing or any other sort of "cheating" used here Btw, did it bother anyone else that the kick-tracks had a huge amount of bleed and they had this sound like someone is hitting a huge beach balloon?

edit: FVCK! I noticed that I had the EQ activated on my audition mixer, when I turned it off, my mix sounded like shit. I have have to redo the mix at some other time, now my ears are too fatiqued. Its not uncommon to have source audio drum tracks (or other tracks) that require drastic eq and gating come mix time. Dont be afraid to experiment with extreme settings. Sometimes its nessessary to manipulate things in the mix like this.

What did you do with the kick and the snare?

I used samples to enhance the original sounds. Slate samples. Tommy snare & kick 17. Eq to fit in the mix + bunch of other stuff... Massey comp & Tapehead & A couple of different reverbs.

I've made this at my parents house on a hifi speaker - we are spending the weekend here. Maybe it's a bit low in volume, I didn't put any limiter/comp on the master bus (leave this to the mastering house ).
