Whos excited for the new Paramore CD?

Haha. Well, yeah. But I don't hear you guys (save Jeff) talking about the well written Kelly Clarkson songs or the catchy and effective kings of leon hit. "Man, this Keith Urban song sure is well written."

My point is that their selection for collective appreciation on a metal forum seems arbitrary at best as we don't have a ton of other "stoke" threads about non-metal bands. The only reason you'd not concede that point is that you like them...Something I'm not questioning your rights or logic on.

I don't dispute them being a rock band.

saying it isn´t rock is retarded really, I mean it is pop of course, but ignoring rock drums, rock guitars both rhythm and lead, downtuned guitars (C# and D is still lower than standard so yeah) and such elements is not listening at all.

Pop Rock yeah, extremely well written, arranged and produced Pop Rock music hell yeah. I am just blown away by how they are all pretty damn good, centered musicians both songwriting and performing wise for being 21 year olds in a millionaire pop band. Check out their Final riot Dvd, that is a ROCK concert, no pop concert. They play live and raw, even make completely new arrangements to songs instead of doing the same dubbed performances exactly like the album so the audience can sing it all along and shit (not that the audience doesn't sing though)

P.S. In the end it's all a matter of opinion of course, who doesn't like them doesn't like them, but saying "how could anyone like this, this is crap, this is ashley simpson pop not metalzzz" won't ignite any super open-mined responses

yeah it was after I metioned it in two or three threads it became a trend to be totallt offtopic by mentioning paramore anywhere in the OT tavern. (at least we have kept it there, where it's legal) I'm not saying I made people like them of course, but I do recall I had never seen it mentioned until I did, that's when they came out of the closet like you say
