Im from Sacramento, California. None of the underground bands come out here, you have to be pretty goddam famous to make it out here apparently. The last big show we had out here was the Jagermeister tour in May.
Thats why we have San Francisco, its only 2 hours c'mon!!!:loco:

Greetings,

I am a new member here on the list. Evergrey came to Vancouver last
spring with Children of Bodom and Iced Earth. I would have posted about
this sooner, but a summer away at my cottage prevented that.

I got to meet the band at Scrape records in Vancouver. The guys couldn't
have been nicer accommodating me when I was in the middle of moving into
my new apartment here being pressed for time. They all signed my copy of
Inner Circle and a poster which will be framed this week to take it's
place beside my framed autographed pictures of Tony Martin and Glenn
Hughes.

When they played the Commodore, it was perhaps my already being bias
toward Evergrey, but they were definitely the best act there that night.
There music was heavy, heavy on the melody, and heavy on the music and
heavy on the lyrics. The guys were unpretentious and down to earth. A
special hello goes out here to Mikael for his kindness and our great
conversation.

Having discovered Evergrey at the time In Search of Truth came out, I
was a bit of a late arrival as far as how long they have been around.
But that makes me no less of a passionate fan. It was really great to go
back and find Dark Discovery and Solitude, Dominance and Greed after the
fact. The live set was fucking awesome, and needless to say I think
Jonas has been an excellent replacement for Patrick.

I was really concerned about hearing Patrick was leaving the band
because his insane drumming was part of what lured me into Evergrey at
first before also getting into the lyrics etc. I see Evergrey are doing
a DVD on October 9th in Gothenburg. If I wasn't going to Queensryche
here on the 7th, I might have gone to see the taping. Anyway, it will
not be the only time I get to see them, that's for sure because I get
over to Europe quite a lot to attend concerts etc.

Great interviews with the band in Brave Words over here and also by Andy
Reade in Power Play as well. The band is to be commended for the
difficult subject matter they deal with in Tom's lyrics. It is really
great to hear when music, especially metal moves people. It just goes to
show how metal has become one of the most evolved types of music on the
planet with so many bands doing so many hybrids. The doom, power, and
prog hybrid of Evergrey makes them stand alone in this world. Guys, you
rock and I really hope your message continues getting out. I for one
will never stop talking about you guys with the passion and intensity
your music so very much deserves.

Stay Metal :headbang:

thanks for the welcome! I'll be there as soon as I can, I promise! :D

a couple of years back? I remember a hellish one in '89. Acoording to the "hoosiers" they're all hellish though! If it's snowing, they freak out! No one can drive and they close everything. Makes me laugh, every year. damn I can't wait to leave!
