Who's going to watch the debate tonight?

So sick of her running off on a prepared tangent when asked a direct question.

I especially like how at one point she even said "I don't have to answer that question because I'm not talking to you, I'm talking to the American people." Uh huh... :err:

She did do much better than I had expected, but that's not because she debated well, it's because she had responses prepared and had learned how to avoid the actual questions. The Republicans have obviously trained her well.

Some of you are praising Pailin for the "wording of her answers." Don't you see how fucking pathetic that is? Perhaps you do, perhaps not. You're exculpating her from the fact that she has absolutely no substance simply because she spat out stump speech talking points that have been drilled into her head for the past two weeks? She gets offered a reprieve because she showed up and recited bullshit without making a complete ass of herself? You're going to absolve her from these things because she "connected" with all the dumb rednecks out there? Give me a fucking break. She is not knowledgeable. She embarrassed herself tonight. The question should not be if she scored points with the "great unwashed;" the vestigial bodies out there who have mental prowess. It should be how smart is she about the issues, and how presidential she looked. Any concept of her brainpower or leadership skills or rationality have been imputed to her by her own party. She is a puppet, sadly being used by her own team under the disgusting guise of a semi-attractive god-freak maverick; some phony "outsider" who has been instructed to use that label as justification for not answering any questions like she did tonight. Tonight she said she wouldn't answer questions "the way people are used to in a debate." What the fuck else do people need to realize she is a joke? She threw out a series of very evasive answers and she was completely nonsensical at times. She also made one of the most astounding remarks ever spoken in debate history, saying she wants to expand the powers of the office of the vice presidency! Instead of simply answering the question about Cheeny's claim that the VP is not part of the executive branch by saying he was dead wrong, which would have shown she has at least some constitutional competency, she chose to not only agree with Cheeny's claim (which is a complete load of malarky to anyone familiar with the constitution), but actually said she wants to expand the powers of the office of the VP! Holy smokes...all this coming from a woman who can't name a supreme court case, didn't even know what the responsibilities of the vice president were, and could be president if Mccain died, and claims that dinosaurs and humans coexisted. That constitutional usurp has massive implications as to the agenda this ticket has. Also, this ignoramus clearly took some acting or improvisational classes before this fucking thing, winking at the camera, tweaking her accent a bit and using her fucked up "every-day" "joe six-pack" language talking into the camera. She was like a cartoon character. Overall, it was a very disappointing and might I add alarming performance by this woman. How much more transparent can one get?

I don't think she did a good job at debating; I think she did a good job at not embarrassing herself. There's no question she's not ready to become VP, much less prez after this debate, due to the evasive stance and regurgitation of her party's stances. There were a few times she was lost in her notes and didn't know how to respond, and that was glaringly obvious. I don't know how these retarded redneck idiots think she "connected" with them...well, they're idiots so there you go.

Her entire debate was like an hour and a half mission statement. I really do wish Biden would've been a little harsher. Every_single_time she threw something his way, he had an answer with factual information to back it up. She just repeated the Republican Party's goals every now and then in her defense. She did quite well for someone who knows absolutely nothing about politics and international politics, but by well I just mean she didn't embarrass herself onstage by thinking the Bush Doctrine was how Bush sees the world.

People who actually pay attention to politics and debates to make their decisions are a lot more uncommon than those who just glance at something on the surface, they watch the debate and Palin won. Because she was louder, more agressive and made more of a connection with the audience. It's fucking digusting. Nothing scares me more than thinking they will win and that she could potentially be pres if he dies. Promise me if they win, and he dies, fucking impeach her or stage a revolution.

I've been checking all the news sites today and the poll indicates that 51% of Americans feel that Biden won, whereas 39% feel Palin won. However, 51% of the people think Palin did better than expected, and 30-something% disagree. I guess the remaining percentages were undecided.

So, like us, it seems the American people feel that while she did better than expected, she's not ready to become VP.

I wouldn't be surprised if he dies that she would step aside and let the Speaker of the House take command. I honestly believe and hope that she's not arrogant enough to believe that she somehow would know what to do as the POTUS. To run for Vice President is one thing, but to suddenly be thrust into the position of the most powerful person on earth is a sobering thought and I don't think she's that naive, even if she is from Alaska.

It's highly unlikely they're going to win anyway. Obama's got an average of almost 6 points lead in the national polls. My American Government professor was saying that in the case of one of the polls (can't remember which), the last president to be elected that was this behind in this particular poll at this late in the game was Truman in 1948. So, it's highly unlikely. I usually don't pay attention to polls at all, but that's a fairly significant (and happy) statistic.

but what's the % of people that will tell a phone pollster, "sure, id vote for the kneegrow, he speaks so well!" and when they get in the booth they're like, "wtf was i thinking?! we cant have the darkies running things!@" people lie to strangers so as not to appear racist or bigoted.

lol @ Sarah Palin. She looked possessed at times... staring right into the camera, no flinching, no blinking, no eye movement, just reading her script in monotone.

And whenever she busted out that lame accent and started saying "ya" and "ya'll" I laughed even harder.

So I'm not the only one who caught on to the forced Fargo accent?

At the beginning, she looked like a deer in the headlights. She warmed up a bit but it was almost like she had an earpiece and they were feeding her information.

Yeah she totally looked like a zombie up there. And I'm pretty sure EVERYONE picked up on that accent. I mean, it was so obvious that I can only assume everyone else did. How could you miss it?
