Who's going to watch the debate tonight?

She's doing really well? Are you kidding? She's doing ok and is holding her own, but really well is stretching it. Also, why can't Republicans pronounce "nuclear"?

All Palin has done for the last hour and fifteen minutes is remain on the defensive and spew forth rhetoric with her annoying "you betcha"s and "yer darn right" midwestern soccer mom bullshit. As annoying as it is, it's insulting to the American people that she thinks they're going to be swayed by shit like her hockey mom, folksy horseshit.

Everything is "we need to do this, we need to do that" but I've yet to hear a solid plan. It's EXACTLY what George W. Bush did in the 2000 election by hypnotizing the drooling American audience into thinking, "Wow, he's like me!!!! I don't care that he's semi-retarded, I want a normal guy in the White House!!!"

Palin is much more intelligent than GW, but she's just blathering on with the same old rhetoric and regurgitation that was drilled into her head in the past two weeks.

In her defense, she's putting up a good fight, however. Biden is wiping the floor with her, but she's going down swinging.

Dude, I thought she was going to fail hard... I was judging from every other interview I've seen her do, she's fucking doing amazing in that light

 Yeah in respect to all those interviews, you're right. But like Eric said, those interviews were pretty biased. They asked bullshit questions and only aired the most awkward moments. I can't stand the woman, but she's been getting shit on by the media, and it's not her fault.

Yeah, they were... but god do I hate her. If she says 'When I was Mayor' as some kind of testament to her qualifications one more time I'm going to go nuts.

My first thoughts... for all you religious nuts out there, Biden's use of the word god: 4 times, Palin's 2 times.

I was going into this thinking Palin was gonna be more "god this, god that" in her arguements. I was proved wrong in that sector...

More thoughts to come!

Biden's use of the phrase 'I would not allow a rape victim terminate their pregnancy, even if the abuser was a family member': 0 times, Palin's 1.

Biden's use of the phrase 'Pray for our oil pipeline, it's God's will': 0 times, Palin's 1.

/point

Palin said that tonight? Not that I remember!

Also, Palin's standpoint on rape victims is that they shouldn't have to pay for the abortion. Anything else you heard is classic Liberal bullshit.

Yer fucked in the head. Please learn to sift threw bullshit. I see liberal bullshit and conservative bullshit. You seem to think all liberals are some big mass of people who spread blatant lies and propaganda and the conservatives are infallible.

LOL @ all the dumbasses fawning over Palin in the polls and in interviews now.

And you know what their biggest praise for her is? "She seems like a normal person, just like me and you!"

Where have I heard that before? DIDN'T YOU FUCKING RETARDS LEARN *ANYTHING* IN THE LAST 8 FUCKING YEARS?!?!?!?

She kept a good composure and was quite well-spoken, aside from her ditzy soccer mom antics, and she did connect with a lot of people, obviously. But the things she connected with people on weren't things that were in contrast to Obama, they were really broad ideas and rhetoric such as "We're tired of overspending and government ineptitude, and we're not gonna take it anymore!"

And that somehow sets you apart from everyone else how? It's like that show where the guy kept winning approval just by saying "9/11"...everyone would follow him. It was hilarious, but this isn't. This is real life, and people are lining up as we speak behind this woman and her running mate's policies that she knows nothing about.

I'm not saying Sarah Palin is a bad person or a complete idiot or anything like that. I disagree with her and I think she has some stupid ideas, but as a person I don't think too badly nor too highly. I see her as an average person who has recently gotten into politics. Fast forward 20 years and if she's still in politics, THEN it would be interesting...but right now she's just some fucking noob politician running for VP with no real experience and no real understanding of politics. Just because you're an outsider to Washington doesn't mean everyone's going to just say, "Oh well, you were the mayor of a shithole town in Alaska. I guess we'll completely change over 230 years of political bureaucracy because you have a retarded kid and a slutty daughter."

Pros for both:

- Presented themselves very well.
- Did not interupt each other, and let each person get their opinion and view point out cleanly and efficiently
- Brought up the numbers and facts pertaining to the conversation at hand

Cons for both:

- Talked too much about the person they're running under and not about themselves. This was evident in the section about what they would do if they were to become president by some means.
- Didn't seem to defend themselves as much as they were defending their upper ticket partners.

Pros for Palin:

- Was very efficient in timing and wording of answers.
- Used her experience as Alaska's head greatly and used it when it pertained to the matter at hand.
- Acted like a human being and did not act vindictive AT ALL in the debate.

Cons for Palin:

- Show'd her inexperience in several sections, including Foriegn Policy matters, by mimicing the direct answers of John McCain
- Over use of the phrase "Greed and Corruption on Wall Street"

Pros for Biden:

- Used his knowledge gained from his time in Senate very well.
- Had the numbers and the facts ready very quickly and displayed this knowledge very well. While Palin had them, she didn't time them as well as Biden did.
- Funny faces!
- Didn't make a truly deplorable statement for once.

Cons for Biden:

- Funny faces!
- Inability to sound like a down to earth human being. He sounded like a Political Lawyer robot at times.
- Did not defend himself well enough against Palin's attacks against his pre-2007 senate record and relations to John McCain.

Overall, it was a tie. A big fucking tie. Palin brought what I expected, but Biden didn't bring enough of the usual Joe Biden fury. Both played this lightly as to not hurt their running mates, and that disapointed me a bit. However, it was probably for the best.

I've never thought bush has EVER sounded like a human being. I've always thought he sounded like an illiterate jackass... WHICH IS TRUE.

I forget who said it but they were like "Boring Biden was boring but right and Palin was confident but wrong......... Palin won this debate, you can see it, I can see it, she was the strongest spoken and most attractive debater of the 4"

:zombie:

I have to agree with you on all the pros and cons. Spot on, Eric.

However, I don't think Joe threw down the gauntlet and brought the fucking fury like Malmsteen, mainly because he didn't want to be viewed as a bully. Everyone knows he's got the experience, knowledge, and inside scoop into everything political. He needed to not come off like an asshole towards Palin but still not treat her with kid gloves at the same time.

It was quite the catch-22. If he really hammered her on her shortcomings, namely the utter and complete failure to expand on some sort of plan for ANY of her debate topics, he would've been seen as a bully and there would've been a huge backlash against him.

Biden is known for taking the risky "asshole response" route in such discussions and he completely refrained, which makes me suspect that Obama's campaign had a shock collar on him, and whenever he even looked like he was thinking of saying "God damn you're a stupid cunt", they gave him a little jolt, resulting in the change in funny facial expression to even funnier facial expression.

Oh man that was the best!!!!

I don't like her, but again, I have to say that she did a good job. If she had been an experienced candidate or had gone up against a candidate of her caliber or with her level of experience, it would've been much more interesting. I think Biden owned her without even trying, but it wasn't really her fault...I can't call you an idiot for not doing a heart transplant correctly if you're still in medical school.

I honestly think that her Achille's heel in all of this is just her lack of experience. And you know what? If McCain loses, I think her political career is finished. I think he nabbed her too soon and she needs to breathe a little in her career.

Meh. She didn't make a total ass of herself but that doesn't mean she did a good job imo. So sick of her running off on a prepared tangent when asked a direct question. She seemed very shakey answering until she reached one of her prepared rants, where you could see her composure and face change. I thought Biden crushed her. I really had heard neither until this debate.

In the very beginning, at the very start, she was really nervous. She was shaking a bit and her lip was quivering. She was prepared for the debate, but she wasn't ready.
