I don't see how any of you people can complain about Darkthrone's production, it is "raw" and it helps create their sound and atmosphere. I have heard much worse production. Anyone claiming the production is crap are just a bunch of retards who think the Dimmu Bogir sound and production define black metal. Darkthrone are one of my all time favourite black metal bands, bands like emperor might be more "listenable" but they lack the real atmosphere Darkthrone that is truely moving.
Anyway, quit bitching, hows about this: don't listen to it if you don't like it. Why are there so many posts just about people saying that they hate bands? I don't see why you waste your energy on something you hate.

Actually, I made a case for Darkthone's production and why it works so well. But I somewhat prefer Emperor, and they "feel" more black metal to me. Their riffs are much colder, and the keyboard washes add to this effect. Therefore, I like Emperor's atmosphere even better.

I think for one to love darthrone, one must love and appreciate the style.
Darkthrone is more about the images and feelings Darkthrone wishes to create with their unique music, than creating perfect technical musicianship.
