I just started this kinda non sense thread hypno cause I GOT SO FUCKING PISSED THAT MY ANTIVIRUS DIDN'T LET ME WORK !!!!!!!!!!! THAT DAMN AVAST SIREN IS ON MY DREAMS EVERY NIGHT !!!!!! AND I'VE JUST FORMATED MY DAMNED PC BECAUSE OF VIRUSES !!!!!!
But I got this shit fixed, and finally I think I'll be able to work in peace...

I don't run an antivirus anymore, I haven't found one that doesn't interfere with Pro Tools yet. Avast and spybot definitely fucked things up for me a few times.

I ran the free antivirus and spyware stuff from the google pack last month and they didn't find anything.

Although I have been staying away from sketchy download sites, fyi, if the download is on rapidshare or some russian/japanese site, you should probably stay away, or run heavy defense with that shit.

- update your windows (new updates are out each 2nd tuesday of a month)
- get a good virusscanner (not free) I'm using panda
- user the immunize feature of spybot
- use your brain

optional:
- get securnia psi to get programms patched asap

Well using my brain is enough to keep my computers safe with a freeware scanner.
