Windows Compatibility Chart

No problem!

I'm running XP right now, and I'm not satisfied with my Audiobox. I want to upgrade, but I'm also planning on upgrading CPU and RAM this summer, so I need something that's 64 bit compatible.

I own a RR Solstice ... fantastic computer aside from a couple minor things that are beyond annoying ... like hardware wizard not recognizing new keyboards and shit because of the way they "tweak" their systems. Point to my post being that I wouldn't fully go by their compatibility chart, those guys know nothing, probably the WORST "tech" team I've ever experienced. 4 hour remote session, twice, and they could not figure out what should have been an easy fix.

Sorry, needed to vent about them. Bottom line, double check anything they have on their site that suggests they know what they're talking about

It says my Saffire Pro 10 is compatible but be aware, it's a pain in the a#% to get it working on W7. So I'm gonna say that thought it says some are compatible, it could be a pain to keep it working.

FUCK YOU PRESONUS! CAN'T GIVE A DAMN W7 DRIVER FOR FIREPODS? GO TO HELL! pisses me off, never again will i buy presonus SHIT.

My Presonus Firestudio runs flawlessly on Windows 7 64bit since I follow these instructions.

1. Just go to Device Manager, find your IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers, right click and select Update Driver Software…
2. On the next dialogue box pick “Browse my computer for driver software”
3. Now choose “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer”
4. On the final screen you should see at least one 1394 driver that has “(legacy)” at the end of the name. Select that one, hit next, and you should be ready to start using your pro-audio gear without even restarting your computer.

There is this, but the fact that they can't be assed to support a product that's only a few years old is really just.. pathetic. Along with all the ridiculous problems with the FP10 that they refuse to investigate.. I will never buy Presonus again.

since I did this my presonus has run flawlessly. on xp and vista I wanted to throw it out the window.

It actually does work with windows 7...maybe the company doesn't realise this? :zombie:

Oh no, I mean faults in the device itself, not drivers.

The two main ones are when it decides it doesn't want to go anymore, and anything you do will dropout until you turn it off and on again. PITA if you've got a project running with a few virtual instruments.

The other one is just a joke.. the crossbleed between Output1 and any mic inputs.. anything that's playing out of Output1/headphone slot will be in the track you're recording. So you get clicks and backing tracks bleeding into DI's, drum tracks, its just ridiculous. Only solution is to buy a headphone amp and use a different output. And they refuse to acknowledge either of these problems.

My interface (E-MU 1616M) is explicitly listed as not compatible with Windows 7 - maybe I should inform the half dozen projects I used it for so far? I've not had one single issue with it, despite the fact E-MU's drivers aren't digitally signed.
